Ch 21: Dumb Brother

Alex's POV:

I wake up and notice that I must've forgotten to set my alarm. I get out of bed and go use the bathroom. I go back and check my phone. I have 30 missed calls, 80 texts, and 15 voice mails from Allison alone. I also notice that there are 5 missed calls from Dylan and only one voicemail and text from him. I call Allison first. It rings for a while before she answers. 

"Hey Ally, I'm so sorry for not answering. I must've fallen asleep." I wait a minute for her response only to hear her sniffling. "Ally are you okay?" 

"I um...Dylan um....I...Carter....and um" I've never heard her sound like this before. 

"Ally, I'm going to come to get you. Where are you? Were going to skip school and Ill text Dylan to cover." I rush to grab a jacket and shoes. 

"Home" Was all she could say while I was getting in the car. I put everything down and tell her I'll be there in a moment. I start my car and head over to her house. We don't live too far from each other so it only took me five minutes. While at a stoplight I quickly text Dylan 'papaya' and wait for his response. Once he responds with a smoothie I know we're all set. Dylan and I have been using this code since we were little. Whenever either of us would text 'papaya' that meant not coming need you to cover and when the other responded with smoothie it meant got it covered you owe me food later. I pull up to Allison's house and notice she's sitting on their porch swing in the same clothes she was wearing yesterday. I go to get out of the car but before I know it she's rushing to my car. 

"Just drive." I don't say anything and just drive. Once we get back to my house. We sit in the car for a moment until she talks. 

"I kissed Carter while you and Theo were in the other room. I immediately left and went over to your house. I found Dylan in bed with Casey. You know the 'leader' of our schools means girls. I wanted to tell him about the kiss with Carter but I found that instead. I went to leave when she screamed that they were doing it for almost a year now. Please tell me you didn't know." She looks at me with pleading eyes. I couldn't help but sigh. 

"Allison. You are my best friend and basically my sister. Dylan may be my brother but you are my sister and I will always have your back. I swear to you that I had no clue about him and Casey." She lets out a huge breath and starts crying. I hug her and we stay like that for a few moments while I let her cry it all out. 

Once she is good, she goes to get out of the car. I follow her and we head into my house. I end up making some breakfast for us. I look into the living room and see that she's sound asleep. She was probably exhausted. I keep making breakfast and once I'm almost done, Ally walks in. I guess the smell woke her up. We start eating and once we finish breakfast, we decide to binge-watch 'Teen Wolf' with a bunch of snacks and drinks. 

It's been about four hours and was not even halfway through the first season when I start to get this feeling that we're being watched. I get up and walk over towards the windows. I lookout for a quick minute when suddenly something catches my eye. Pink ear tips and a pink tail. I grab a jacket and walk into my backyard. I know those colors anywhere. 

"Xavier. Come here, boy. I know you're out there. I saw your tail and ears." Within a minute, Xavier comes trotting out of the woods. "What are you doing here mister. Sean is probably worried sick about you. Come on you can come inside while I call Sean." I walk in with him following behind me. Once inside, I grab my phone and call Sean. It should be a break between classes right now so I'm hoping he'll answer. Luckily, he does. 

"Hey Sean, I know you're in school but I just wanted to tell you, I found Xavier in the woods by my house." 

"Oh, I didn't even know that they got out. Obviously, you know I'm at school, would you be able to keep them with you until school is over. Then maybe we can hang out and do some girl talk. I'm assuming that's what you and Allison are doing right now since neither of you is here. Which by the way I would like to be invited next time." I couldn't help but laugh. I imagine he's pouting like a big baby right now. 

"Of course Xavier can stay until school is over. Were just watching some 'Teen Wolf' right now so it won't be a problem to watch him. What did you mean by them though? I only saw Xavier." I'm extremely confused. I only saw Xavier. 

"Oh normally when Xavier is out, Luca isn't too far away."

"Oh that's not a problem, I didn't see him. I'll go check for him and then I guess ill see you after school." We both say our goodbyes and hang up. I grab my coat and go back out. I start calling for Luca and soon enough he shows up. He follows me inside and walks straight over to Allison. He gets upright by her and nudges her arm then lays down with her. I couldn't help but let out an 'awe.' 

I go to the living room and grab a few snacks and drinks. I walk back in and Xavier climbs up with me. Xavier climbs up right behind me and lays down. I just decided why not and lay down on him. He's actually a pretty nice pillow. OMG, I'm going to have to tease Sean about how Xavier is an actual pillow pet. We keep watching 'Teen Wolf' and I notice every once in and while Luca and Xavier would let out a small growl about something from the show. We're in the middle of season three when I look over and notice that Allison is sound asleep with Luca and Luca looks like he's in heaven right now. Another episode is about to finish when there's a knock on the door. I look at the time and notice that school is over by now. I get up and Xavier follows. I open the door and find Sean standing there with a bag of Arbys and a huge goofy smile.
