Chapter 17: It's Your Turn

Sidharth and Shehnaaz were going home. Sidharth was driving and his mood was totally off. Shehnaaz noticed it and said, "Agar mujhe paata hota ki party mein yeh sab hone wala hai toh main kabhi tujhe chalne ke liye force nahi karti."

"Lekin mujhe toh paata tha. Teri problem yeh hai ki tu meri baat bilkool nahi sunti. Now I don't wanna talk further about this matter." He said.

Shehnaaz didn't say anything. Sidharth continued driving. He was thinking about the party. How badly Sonia insulted Shehnaaz. It reminded him of the night when Sonia insulted Sidharth in front of her boyfriend. That time he couldn't stand for himself. But now when it has come to his friend, he couldn't bear it. He stood for her. But the fact is he is hurt. He can't accept that the person he loved the most, is now the most hated person. It's not what he wanted.

"Sidharth stop the car."

Sidharth looked at Shehnaaz.

"I said stop the car." Shehnaaz again said.

Sidharth stopped the car. "Utar." Shehnaaz said and came out of the car. Like a good boy Sidharth followed her order.

"Kya hua suddenly?" Sidharth asked.

"You need some fresh air. Tab se notice kar rahi hoon tu party ke baare mein soch raha hai. Jo hua so hua. Now forget it." Shehnaaz said.

"Nahi ho raha. Bohut zyada gussa aa raha hai uss par. I just hate her." Sidharth said.

"Aaj se pehle maine kabhi tujhse yeh sawal nahi pucha lekin aaj puch rahi hoon, aisa kya hua tha tum dono ke beech? Tu pyaar karta tha nah uss se. Aisa kya hua jo tu uss se nafrat karne laga? Apna career, apna sab kuch barbaad kar diya? What happened Sidharth?"

"You're my friend. That's why I can tell you everything. Agar tu jaan na chahti hai toh sun...."

Sidharth told her everything. How close they were since childhood, how they started their career together, how Sonia cheated him and then humiliated him. He was crying while telling all these.

"Maine kya kya nahi kiya uske liye. Still she left me. Aaj bhi mujhe woh bohut affect karti hai. Ab tu hi baata, do I deserve all these?" Sidharth said while crying.

Shehnaaz couldn't see him crying. She hugged her and said, "Of course not. Deserve toh woh nahi karti tujhe. Tu usse aur importance mat de. Teri life uss ladki ki wajah se barbaad mat kar."

Sidharth hugged her back. He needed it. He was feeling relaxed. After sometime they broke the hug. Sidharth wiped his tears and tried to be normal. After sometime he smiled sadly and said, "Tune ek baar kaha tha na, maine sayad kisi apne ko nahi khoya. Teri tarah maine bhi khoya hai. I think humari story bilkool same hai."

Shehnaaz gave a sad smile and said, "Lekin ek chota sa fark hai. Tu jis se pyaar karta tha woh sirf tujhe chhod kar chali gayi. Lekin main jis se pyaar karti thi usne duniya hi chhod di."

Sidharth was shocked. He couldn't find words to say. Shehnaaz told him her story. In front of her pain his own pain was feeling so small. He couldn't even imagine what she was going through.

"Rohit mera sab kuch tha. Pehle main bhi kisi chiz par focus nahi kar paa rahi thi. Phir mujhe tu mila. Tune mujhe apne pain ko overcome karna sikhaya. Mujhe strong banaya. Inn sab ke bawajood agar main move on kar sakti hoon toh tu kyu nahi?"

"Move on? But how?" Sidharth asked.

"Wapas se come back kar. Concerts karna suru kar de. Tujhe barbaad hote dekh kar Soniya khush ho rahi hai. Aisa mat hone de Sidharth." Shehnaaz said.

"She is right. Agar woh kar sakti hai toh main kyu nahi?" Sidharth said in his mind.

"Thik hai. I promise, I'll move on." Sidharth said.

Shehnaaz gave a smile.

Morning time...

Shehnaaz came to Sidharth's house.
As soon as Sidharth opened the door, she grabbed his hand and took him to his room.

"Jaldi se chal andar. Mujhe tujhse kuch important baat karni hai." Shehnaaz said while going.

"Arrey lekin baat kya hai?" Sidharth asked.

After going to the room, Shehnaaz said, "Dekh tujhe toh paata hi hai aaj shaam ko mera show hai."

"Haan toh?"

"Unn logo se maine contact kiya. Aur aaj ka show main akeli nahi kar rahi hoon. Hum dono mil ke kar rahe hai. Tu bas iss contract par sign kar de. Woh log paise tere account mein bhej denge." Shehnaaz said and gave him the papers.

"Wait wait. Tu pagal hai? Tu at least mujhse puch toh leti." Sidharth said.

"Iss mein puchne wali kya baat hai? Kaal hi tune kaha tu move on karega. Iss se accha tarika aur kya ho sakta hai move on karne ka?"

"Dekh, I agree maine kaha tha, but I need time. Aise suddenly sab kuch thodi na hota hai. Aur upar se maine der mahine se koi show nahi kiya. Aur tu bol rahi hai aaj hi perform karna hai. It's not possible." Sidharth said and sat on his bed.

Shehnaaz also sat beside him and put her hand on his.

"Jab main tut chuki thi, tune mujhe sambhala, mujhe rasta dikhaya. Tune sikhaya kaise apni takleef ko takat banaya jaa sakta hai. Aur maine teri baat maani. Isliye aaj main yaaha hoon. NOW IT'S YOUR TURN. Aaj agar tune yeh kar liya, dekhna tujhe bohut accha lagega. Bilkool relax feel karega tu. Aisa lagega ek bohut bada bojh utar gaya." Shehnaaz said.

"Lekin...."

"Do you trust me?" Shehnaaz asked.

Sidharth looked at her eyes and became totally lost. Of course he can trust her. After a long time Sidharth met someone whom he can trust blindly. Someone who will support him, give him strength. No matter how much hurt she is inside, she will do anything to make him happy. After Sonia it was impossible for him to trust someone. He promised himself that he would never trust anyone blindly. But Shehnaaz just did some magic on him. In a few days she gained his trust. Now Sidharth trust her more than himself.

"Of course I trust you." Sidharth said after sometime.

Shehnaaz smiled and said, "Toh tu aaj mere saath perform karega?"

"Itni famous singer mujhe chance de rahi hai, maana kaise kar sakta hoon?" Sidharth said in a funny way.

"Yeeee! I'm so happy! Mera accha baccha." Shehnaaz said. She pulled his cheeks and hugged tightly.

Though it was a friendly hug, Sidharth had some unknown feeling. He was liking it very much. He himself didn't know from when he started liking her company this much. He becomes happy when she is around him. Somehow he started liking her. But the question is, Is it just friendship? Or more than that?
