Chapter 22 Broken or not?

           Ethan's pov

I stare at her sleeping form, my heart still beating at a higher place than normal.

Afraid of something happening to her.

"She is fine now Mr Lockwood. Don't worry."

I merely nod at him, not taking my eyes off her.
And I hear him sigh.

"From what I gathered Mr Lockwood. The girl has suffered alot."

"Her panic attacks are triggered because of an event in her past ."

"And I would suggest you to avoid discussing or recalling it.  It may go worse next time."

I clench my fist.
This all happened because of me.... because I persuaded her to tell me.

What all could have happened to lead her to this?

Can she be innocent?

The thought itself makes my blood freeze in my veins, and my body to go numb.
No....she can't...I saw the recordings.

She was all crazy that day.....no way like the Vivian I knew.
Punching Sophie...hurting her when she normally wouldn't even hurt a fly.

Saying she will kill Soph.

This girl is crazy , a psycho . And her insanity alone can be judged from how she killed Sophie.
She can't be innocent.

She just can't. Or the evidences...the testimony...the witnesses wouldn't have lied.

They saw her pushing.....fighting near the cliff.

They all can't lie. Vivian has killed Sophie.

And that's what was the truth.

Pity. It has to be pity that I am feeling for her.
There is no reason for feeling any other emotion for her.

How I wish that night had not happened.

How I wished I would have stayed back in the party.

But Alas, this is our fate and we have to live like this.

Thanking the doctor, I show him to the door and come back to our room.

Covering her sleeping form with the comforter and adjusting my chair next to her bed.

I lean on it, looking up at the ceiling.

It was going to be a long night tonight.

"Mr Lockwood! This is a great prospect! Plus a new face will definitely blow the audience!"

A speaker says in the meeting, getting no response from Ethan.

Another speaks up, trying to convince him.

"Plus the earlier shoot was the biggest hit in our history Mr Lockwood. "

Ethan sighs, closing the folder and placing one leg over the other.

"Please Mr Lockwood. We wouldn't persuade if we didn't see the potential in her"

"Are you all done?"

Was what he asks and they shut up immediately. Looking at each other and lowering their heads in respect.
