"Momwy where are you?" the six-year-old girl asked. Woken up from her nap the little girl called out to her mother but she soon realized she was home alone. Her family had left her home with her uncle but she didn't know. She suddenly heard someone talking on the phone and rushed to the noise.

It was her uncle. He was talking about how he was going to break up his brother's family. He had always been jealous of him. He had the money, the woman, and the respect. Everything he spent years trying to get it only took his brother a few months. At that time young Aurelia didn't know he was talking about her father.

"Come here baby" her uncle said calmly.

She took a step back as her uncle was always very aggressive towards her behind closed doors. So why was he being so nice?

"Do you wanna play a little game baby?" her uncle said.

Young Aurelia didn't know it was bad. She thought nothing of what her uncle was doing. She thought since he was older he meant good. She was just too naive.

So she agreed

"Sure uncle how do you play"

"Just do what I tell you, I'll take care of everything else" her uncle said.

In his sick mind, he thought she would like this. In fact, he thought she deserved it after all, it was her father's fault for all the terrible things that had happened in his life. So he would take his most precious thing.

"Take off your clothes" he said

Even at her Young age Young Aurelia knew that it wasn't a good thing

"I don't think I want to play this game anymore uncle"

"Can we play something else like Barbie?!!"

"No, you WILL do what I say"

Before she could say anything or do anything her uncle picked her up and started touching her no-no areas.

Aurelia knew this was wrong. Her mom had told her about dangerous men that do dirty things to you without permission. So why was her uncle doing this to her? Wasn't he her family? Aren't family supposed to protect you not harm you? Why was he doing this to her she thought to herself.

"S-s-stop, s-s-stop please, I'll do anything just stop please I don't like it"

That was a big mistake because he liked it when she begged. He liked her crying and pleading for him to stop. It only made him touch her more.

Ding-Dong

It was a doorbell.

That doorbell seemed to make him stop and he finally let go of Lia.

That was all it took for her to run away to her room to put some clothes on. When she was done she went down only to see that her family was there talking to her uncle.

She asked herself how he could act so innocent in front of her family but do disgusting stuff to her when they weren't there. She quickly rushed down to her father with tears in her eyes.

"Daddy. h-h-he was touching m-m-me and I-i-i told him to stop but he didn't, h-h-he also told me to take off my clothes and started touching my no-no parts."

"Sweetie who touched you I will murder him" her dad said

She then pointed to her uncle.

"Sweetie uncle would never maybe you saw someone else or maybe it was a dream"

"B-b-b-but I'm not lying Momwy said it's bad to lie. It was him Daddy you have to believe me."

"Aurelia you have to stop lying "- he said

The little girl was surprised her father had never called her Aurelia.

"B-b-brothers y-y-you have to believe me, I'm not lying. Mommy said it's bad to lie"

Her brothers didn't quite believe her it was only Lorenzo who believed her. In her brother's eyes, he was a good man, a great man in fact, and he would never do such a thing.

"I didn't do it, big bro. You have to believe me, maybe you should send her to the orphanage. It will fix her up real good"- her uncle said.

"Come Aurelia we are going to drop you off somewhere. We will come to pick you up soon tho"

"You believe me right?"

No response, but she knew, she knew they didn't believe her she knew they were falling right into his trick.

Her uncle was happy, he was happy he could take control of her when she was in the orphanage, he was happy he was breaking their family apart, he was happy that they were so stupid to have not believed their golden star. He would have her all to himself now.

Perhaps they would realize their mistake, but by then it would be too late, and Aurelia would already be gone...

2 years later

"Oliver, go through the video from two years ago" Dad said

Someone was attacking them, so he wanted to find out who it was

"Okay Dad wait a second geez"- Oliver said.

The house was quieter, more deadly, and less peaceful.

The little girl that would run around, scribble on the walls, and help the maids make dinner for her family was gone. The golden star that kept the family going, that kept them smiling was gone. They missed her, but in their eyes, she brought this on herself. She shouldn't have "lied" to them. If she told them the so-called truth she would still be with them, dancing around and living like a normal child.

They had no idea that it was their fault if they had believed her if they had listened to her, if they had believed her first, and if they had asked her uncle if he did it.

She was now in a place where she did not feel loved, where she cried to herself every night, where she tried to convince herself that maybe it was just a dream, maybe she was a liar, and maybe she should have just kept her mouth shut and carried the secret with her forever.

From that day on, they barely heard from their uncle. When they talked to him it would be short conversations. They had no idea that Lia was being tortured. He would haunt her, maybe not physically but emotionally. She would always see him in her nightmares, creeping around her and touching her in places she didn't want to be touched. She had trust issues because of him. Can you imagine an 8-year-old thinking twice before saying anything? An 8-year-old thinking to herself "Would they believe me?" before confessing anything to anyone. An 8-year-old thinking people wouldn't want to be friends with her because she was a liar. An 8-year-old thinking "If my family left me I'm sure everyone would"

"I didn't find it, but I did find something very disturbing," Oliver said with tears flowing down his face.

"Well, why are you crying?" His dad said as he snatched the computer away

Oliver never cried. He kept his emotions bottled up after Lia left.

It was them, it was little Aurelia and her uncle. It was Lia crying and pleading for help. It was her begging him to stop.

As soon as they heard the glass breaking, everyone rushed down. Thinking they were being attacked, they soon realized it was much worse.

They started watching the video and as soon as they saw it they burst into tears—even their mom.

They should've believed her, they should've listened to her. They should've known a 6-year-old girl wouldn't achieve anything in making a lie like that.

Now they had to live with that guilt because it was all too late...
