Our episode opens up with the X-jeep returning to Animal X HQ where we see Daniel tell Tony the story about he fought El Toro by transforming into a giant robot, and Tony is amazed saying that he didn't know the X-Jeep could do that. Helena then explains to both Daniel and her son that she installed the battle mode as a secret fourth mode of the X-jeep for emergencies only. Natalie then tells Daniel that Bill has a mission for them. we then cut to Daniel, Natalie, and Rodney entering Bill's Office where Bill informs our heroes that today is the Gambo breeding season. Daniel asks just what the heck these "Gambo" are and opens up the Cryptozooligcon to find out that the Gambo is an aquatic monotreme (the order of egg-laying mammals that includes platypuses and echidnas) descended from the steropodontid family that has evolved an ocean-going lifestyle and is native to the Gambia in Western Africa and use their beaks to feed on marine invertebrates in the sand such as shellfish. Bill then explains that every year the Gambo come to shore to lay their eggs and the Black Dot use it as an opportunity to go on an annual egg heist to steal the Gambo eggs to be sold on the black market, however he believes that they might be planning something BIG this year according to intel he has gathered from Tanya, a member of Animal X's African division and that he needs the two of them to aid her in her investigation. and they won't be doing it alone, followed by Helena entering the room to tell Daniel and Natalie to get a move on. Daniel is confused, asking why science lady Helena is going with them. Bill then explains to Daniel that Helena's scientific expertise will come in handy during this mission. after that we cut to Daniel, Natalie, Helena, and Rodney hopping in the X-Jeep before blasting off. after that, we cut to the twins arriving at the Black Dot outpost in the Gambia where they meet Adewale, leader of the African branch of the Black Dot. Adewale tells the twins that they came just in time, explaining that he and the Black Dot have been working on a weather machine that he plans on using to control the tide. Cloak then asks Adewale why they would want to do that as that would stop the Gambos from breeding and she thought that he wanted the Gambos to breed so that they can steal their eggs. Adewale then explains to the twins that with the power to control the tide they can fool the Gambos into thinking that every season is breeding season so that they'll lay eggs more often and soon the Black Dot will be rolling in dough. however Adewale informs the twins that there is a piece missing: the key required to activate the machine, which was stolen by his goody-two-shoes niece Tanya who works for the Animal X Natural Mystery Unit and that he needs the twins to find her, eliminate her, and return the key to him. after that, we cut to the X-Jeep landing in Animal X's Gambia outpost located near the coast where Daniel, Natalie, Helena, and Rodney are greeted by Tanya who hugs Helena, calling her "Auntie Helena", Daniel asking how the two know each other. Helena then tells Daniel and Natalie that she worked with her mother in the past. and right on cue Tanya's mother Nakia head of Animal X's african division opens the door and is happy to see Helena again, shaking her hand telling her that she hasn't seen her in years and tells our heroes to come in. we then cut to our heroes sitting over the table where Nakia tells our heroes that they came just in time as the Black Dot are plotting on using a weather-controlling device to control the receding tides which could threaten the lives of the local Gambo population as the Gambia coastline has been their ancestral breeding ground for generations. Rodney is fascinated by the keychain that Tanya is wearing on her neck and hovers around her head which annoys Tanya who shoos away the poor skyfish. Daniel apologizes to Tanya, telling her that Rodney gets very excited when he meets new people. Natalie then asks Nakia how she and Helena met, and Nakia explains that she was part of Blake's expedition team that found Helena alone in the jungle all those years ago. we then cut to a flashback scene where we see Blake and a team of researchers trekking through the Congo rainforest where they come across a strange native woman with purple eyes and white hair stranded in the middle of the jungle. Blake then holds out his hand which causes her to hiss and hide behind a tree. Blake then assures the native girl that he's not going to hurt her followed by the native girl sniffing his hand before touching it while the rest of his crew watch in amazement, Nakia saying that she can't believe it. Blake then hands the native girl a chocolate bar and she takes it, the feral woman biting into it. Blake asks if she likes it and she nods, followed by Blake telling her that there's more where he comes from before turning his head to his crew to tell them that they've got a keeper. we then cut to Blake bringing the native girl all the way to his home in New Jersey, USA where he asks her what her name is, however she doesn't speak English so she can't tell him. Blake then decides to name her Helena, after his dearly-departed mother and gives her the surname White due to her flowing white hair: Helena White. after that, we cut to a montage of Blake in his lab teaching Helena English followed by teaching her about the wonders of science and technology before taking her around the city to teach her about the great things about being part of civilization, which is how she became the scientist we know and love today. over the course of their time together the two fall in love which would eventually lead to them starting a family. we then cut to the present day where Nakia asks Helena how Blake's doing, followed by Helena telling her that Blake's dead along with their firstborn child Nina. Nakia tells her that she's sorry for her loss, followed by Helena telling Nakia that it's hard being a single mother, saying that every day she worries about her son Tony all the while Daniel is fascinated by Tanya's necklace asking where she got it from. Tanya explains to Daniel that her keychain is actually the key required to activate the Black Dot's weather machine and that she stole it in order to prevent them from activating it. Nakia explains to our heroes that the one behind this plot is a man named Adewale, head of the Black Dot's African division. Tanya then tells our heroes that Adewale's her uncle, followed by Nakia telling our heroes that they need to hurry if they are to stop her brother followed by Daniel, Natalie, Rodney and Tanya hopping in the X-jeep while Helena and Nakia watch the vehicle drive off, Helena wishing our heroes good luck. we then cut to the X-Jeep driving on the sandy beaches of the Gambia before driving into the water and transforming into boat configuration. our heroes are then greeted by a family of Gambo who swim by the X-jeep before sticking their heads out to greet our heroes. Rodney is terrified of the beaked marine mammals and hides behind Rodney, followed by Tanya telling the little skyfish not to be afraid as the Gambo are very docile creatures. Tanya then whips out a bag of clams and starts throwing food at the Gambo who catch the shellfish in their beaks while Rodney zips around the marine monotreme's heads before they dive back into the ocean. Tanya then notices the Gambo swim away, wondering what the heck spooked them. Daniel then points to a speedboat with the Black Dot logo on it coming straight towards them, and Natalie whips out a pair of binoculars to see that the twins are riding in it alongside a black man wearing a Black dot uniform. Tanya swipes the binoculars from Natalie and looks through them to recognize the black man as her uncle Adewale and tells Daniel and Natalie that the Black Dot are after her because they want the key meaning that they've gotta get outta here NOW. Adewale then presses a button that causes the Black Dot's boat to fire a barrage of missiles at the X-jeep which manages to dodge the missiles by diving underwater much to the frustration of Adewale who scolds the twins for not doing anything to help him capture his niece. Cloak then uses her telekinesis to choke Adewale to remind him that they're still loyal to Domino and if he steps out of line he'll have to answer to Domino. Cloak then lets go of Adewale who tells her never to do that again. we then cut to the X-Jeep diving into the depths of the ocean where they run into several Gambo swimming in single file towards the shallows, Daniel closing his eyes to use his telepathy followed by Tanya asking Daniel what he's doing. Daniel then tells Tanya that he can sense that the Gambo are stressed, followed by Natalie telling Tanya that Daniel has his way with animals. Tanya then realizes that it must be the time for the Gambo to come to shore to breed, saying that they've gotta follow them to make sure that the Black Dot don't harm them. the X-Jeep then resurfaces and returns to shore followed by our heroes stepping out of the vehicle to see several Gambo haul themselves onto the beach until the air is filled with Gambo mating calls. the females then start digging holes in the sand with their beaks to lay their eggs in, Daniel amazed by the sight of so many of these marine monotremes on the beach at once. however we then see Adewale and the twins arrive on the scene which causes the Gambo to scatter in fear, Daniel and Natalie not enthusiastic at all to see the twins again. Adewale then whips out an electrified spear and demands his niece to hand over the key. Tanya then tells her uncle "over my dead body" and whips out her bow and arrow and takes aim at her uncle. Natalie fights Dagger while Daniel fights Cloak, Natalie deflecting Dagger's knives with her electric batons and Daniel dodging Cloak throwing debris with Telekinesis. meanwhile Tanya fires her trick arrows at her uncle Adewale, only for Adewale to deflect all of them by twirling his spear. Adewale then fights dirty by kicking his niece causing her to fall over and drop her key. Adewale then picks up the key and laughs evilly telling the twins that they got what they want before escaping. Tanya then gets up and slams her fist into the sand, distraught over not being able to keep the promise to her mother that she would keep the key safe and out of the hands of her evil uncle. Rodney then nuzzles against Tanya to make her feel better followed by Daniel placing his hand on her shoulder assuring her that they'll get her key back. Natalie then radios Helena to inform her that Adewale has escaped with the key, followed by Helena and Nakia arriving on the scene in a dune buggy followed by Tanya apologizing to her mother for her failure to stop uncle Adewale from getting the key. Nakia assures Tanya that it's alright and wipes a tear from her daughter's eye, telling her that she believes in her and that it's up to her to defeat her brother. Helena then tells Nakia that she'll go with the youngsters since it's going to take her technological expertise to shut down the weather machine. Nakia then wishes our heroes good luck before we cut to Adewale and the twins returning to the Black Dot outpost where Adewale places the key into the weather machine activating the device causing the tides to lower forcing the Gambo to retreat back into the ocean leaving the eggs vulnerable. a bunch of Black Dot grunts then arrive on the scene to start digging up the Gambo eggs and putting them in bags before loading them into the armored truck. we then cut to Helena, Daniel, Natalie, and Tanya riding in the X-jeep driving across the beach Daniel watching out the window as the Gambo retreat back into the ocean as the tide starts to slowly shrink, Daniel feeling sorry for the poor creatures. Tanya tells Daniel that the Black Dot are despicable for thinking that upsetting the balance of nature like that is okay, followed by Natalie telling Tanya that their leader Domino murdered her parents. the X-Jeep then arrives at the Black Dot Gambia outpost and our heroes storm the facility, Daniel and Natalie taking out the Black Dot grunts guarding the entrance while Helena and Tanya rush into the entrance. Daniel, Natalie, Helena, and Tanya then confront Adewale and the twins with their weapons at the ready, Tanya demanding her uncle Adewale to hand over the key however Adewale tells her no and whips out his spear before sicking the twins on our heroes. Dagger then throws her knives at our heroes who jump out of the way with the knives hitting the wall instead. Cloak then uses her telekinesis to remove her sister's knives from the wall and fling them back at our heroes followed by Natalie deflecting the blades with her electric bo staff while Daniel ties the two up with his grappling hook. meanwhile Tanya fights Adewale in hand-to-hand combat before telling Helena to get the key. Helena then rushes toward the weather machine and removes the key de-activating the machine causing the tide to rise back up allowing the gambo to return to the shore to guard their nests, one of the beaked egg-laying marine mammals biting a black dot grunt on the leg causing him to drop the bag causing the eggs to fall out but are caught by the soft sand. a baby Gambo then hatches out of one of the eggs and nuzzles its beak against its mother's. we then cut back to the fight between Tanya and her uncle Adewale, Tanya firing one of her trick arrows at her uncle which electrocutes him causing Adewale to drop his spear followed by Tanya picking up her uncle's weapon and breaking it in half leaving Adewale defenseless. Helena tries to run off with the key but is stopped in her tracks by Cloak who frees herself and her sister from their restraints with her telekinesis before lifting poor Helena into the air with her telekinesis causing her to drop her key. however it's Rodney to the rescue as the little skyfish catches the key in his mouth and zips around the room to distract the twins causing Cloak to drop Helena saving her life. Nakia and a squad of Animal X personnel then arrive on the scene to arrest Adewale while the twins retreat to avoid getting caught. Rodney then gives the key to Nakia who looks Adewale in the eyes and tells him "hello, brother" followed by Animal X personnel apprehending Adewale to take him away, the African black dot leader promising his sister that he'll have revenge before being loaded into the back of an Animal X truck all the while Tanya fires one last trick arrow at the weather machine which explodes destroying the device once and for all. after that, we cut to Daniel, Natalie, and Tanya sitting on the beach soaking up the sun while watching the mother Gambos and their babies return to the sea, Tanya telling Daniel and Natalie that she's happy to see the balance of nature restored. Daniel and Natalie agree, all the while Helena shakes hands with Nakia who tells Helena that it was nice seeing her again, followed by Helena telling Nakia that she and her agents best be going now but she'll be sure to keep in touch followed by Helena telling Daniel and Natalie that it's time to go. Daniel and Natalie say their goodbyes to Tanya along with Rodney giving Tanya a goodbye nuzzle and our episode ends with our heroes blasting off in the X-jeep once again.
