We open up with a recap of the previous episode before we pick up where the last one left off, with Cindy and the Mothman being surrounded by the twins and the angry mob they have amassed. Daniel and Natalie arrive on the scene to protect the Mothman, the twins shouting "it's the Mothman sympathizers! get them!" followed by the angry mob attacking our heroes. Rodney uses his super-speed he larned last episode to knock the angry mob off their feet allowing our heroes to escape. Natalie tells Daniel to get Cindy and the Mothman to safety while she deals with the twins. Daniel then tells the Mothman to come with him while the angry mob get back up and chase after them. meanwhile Natalie whips out her twin electric batons and takes on both of the twins by herself. Daniel then grabs Mothman and Cindy by their arms and takes them into Eliza's house where they are spotted by Eliza and the Johnson family. James and Sharon are terrified of the Mothman, but Cindy assures her parents that the Mothman's not a monster. Mothman turns his head to Eliza and says that it's good to see her after all these years, and Eliza tells the Mothman "you too". Eliza then recognizes Daniel telling him that it's been a while, saying that the last time she saw him he was just a little boy. James is shocked that Daniel and Eliza know each other, and James remembers Daniel's words "you may not remember, but trust me we've met before" which jogs his memories along with Sharon and Cindy who all remember him now, Cindy hugging Daniel's leg calling him Uncle Daniel followed by Daniel hugging the Johnson family happy to be re-united with them at last while Eliza and the Mothman watch. Rodney zips around Cindy's head, making friends with the little girl. Cindy asks who this little guy is, and Daniel tells her "his name is Rodney, he's a skyfish". Daniel and the Mothman then both look at each other followed by Daniel's eyes glowing red. Mothman then tells Daniel that the two of them are one in the same. Daniel tells the Mothman that he has the ESPer gene too, just like him. Daniel then places his hand on the Mothman's shoulders and closes his eyes followed by the Mothman being consumed by a blue aura. Daniel's eyes go from red to icy blue followed by the Mothman's wing injury disappearing. Cindy's jacket falls off the Mothman's wing followed by Cindy asking her uncle Daniel how he did that. Daniel tells her that he doesn't know himself, all the while the Mothman is astonished to have his wing now fully healed. Daniel then opens up the Cryptozoologicon and reads an excerpt explaining how the firstborn could use the ESPer gene's power to heal their sick and wounded, a very useful power indeed. meanwhile Natalie is getting beaten by the twins, Dagger pinning Natalie to a tree with her throwing knives. Dagger then holds her knife up to Natalie's neck, telling her "I'm gonna enjoy cutting you up, and the Mothman too" before Cloak tells her sister that first they're gonna make her watch the old house get burned down by the angry mob with Daniel and the Mothman inside. the angry mob then proceed to throw their torches into Eliza's old house, causing the home to catch ablaze. one mob member (who just so happens to be a priest) then whips out a megaphone and calls out to the Mothman, telling him "come out, Mothman! there's nowhere for you to hide! show yourself for the demon you truly are and be exorcised for all those lives you've taken in the Silver bridge collapse!" followed by the Mothman grabbing the entire family and flying them out of the burning house before it collapses disappearing into the night fooling the angry mob into thinking he died in the fire along with Daniel and the Johnsons. Natalie breaks into tears, screaming "NOOOO!!!" while Dagger gives off a sinister grin. Rodney then shows up using his super-speed to knock down Cloak and Dagger while Natalie slips out of her jacket and escapes while Rodney distracts the twins. Dagger then swats away the little skyfish and asks Cloak permission to go after her, and Cloak responds by saying "don't bother, we already got what we wanted. now it's time for us to go collect our reward" followed by the twins and the angry mob walking away. once the coast is clear, Natalie grabs her Animal X jacket and puts it back on before rushing toward the burned-down remains of Eliza's house, digging through the debris only for her to find nothing. Natalie then breaks down crying, blaming herself for not being able to save Daniel while Rodney also breaks into tears, Natalie comforting the little Skyfish assuring him that their deaths will not be in vain. however Natalie notices a black feather fall in front of her followed by the Mothman landing in front of her along with Daniel, Natalie, and the Johnsons including Eliza who is distraught at what the angry mob has done to her home, saying that no-good Mayor has sown a web of lies that has stirred up the citizens of Point Pleasant. Cindy then looks at the Mothman and asks the winged humanoid why those people hate him. The Mothman explains to our heroes that he was born with the ESPer gene which gave him the ability to see into the future, and he foresaw a catastrophe along with hearing the voices of several people screaming in terror and then silence. so in the days leading up to the collapse of the Silver Bridge, the usually-reclusive Mothman appeared before the citizens of Point Pleasant in an attempt to warn them of the coming disaster. but due to mankind's inherent fear of the unknown and people of Point Pleasant being a superstitious bunch, they didn't heed his warnings and instead blamed the Mothman for the bridge collapse when tragedy struck and ever since then he's been demonized by the townsfolk as a monster, a demon, a bad omen, a bringer of death. Daniel begins to feel sorry for the Mothman, telling the creature that he saw him once when he was a child, and the Mothman remembers Daniel as the little boy from the park. Rodney then nuzzles against the Mothman, Daniel telling the winged humanoid that it appears Rodney understands him. Cindy then says she wishes there was a way they can convince the people of Point Pleasant that the Mothman wasn't responsible for the bridge collapse. Eliza tells her granddaughter that she wishes there was a way, but it's not that easy as the people of Point Pleasant are so stuck in their ways they refuse to listen to reason. the Mothman tells our heroes that there must be something they can do, as he senses another disaster coming. our heroes then look overhead to see Domino's airship hovering over the West Virginia woods. James asks Daniel what the heck that thing is, and Natalie recognizes it as Domino's airship. Natalie contacts Bill, informing him that Domino is on his way to Point Pleasant. Bill is shooken by this, remembering his last face-to-face encounter with Domino in the Congo during the "lost world' 3-parter. Helena asks Bill what's wrong, and Bill tells her that Domino is in Point Pleasant, and presumably after the Mothman's head. after that, we cut to the next day where we see the twins return to Point Pleasant to inform the Mayor that the Mothman is dead and they're here to collect the bounty. however a bunch of black feathers start to fall from the sky and all the townspeople look up to see the Mothman flying overhead. the Mayor looks at the twins and asks them if he's being pranked, because the Mothman looks pretty alive and well. however Domino arrives on the scene to assure the Mayor of Point Pleasant that he has a plan to lure the beast into a trap and then go in for the kill. the Mayor asks who the heck this guy is, and the twins introduce him to their father Domino who shakes the mayor's hand. Domino explains his plan to the Mayor, saying that as we speak bombs are being planted underneath the rebuilt silver bridge as we speak before we cut to Doctor Uno overseeing a bunch of Black Dot grunts attaching bombs to the bottom of the bridge. Domino continues to explain his plan, saying that the idea is to re-create the tragedy that was Silver bridge collapse in order to force the Mothman out of hiding. the Mayor tells Domino that he's crazy, saying that hundreds of people will die. Domino then puts his hand on the Mayor's shoulder and tells him "if there are casualties, we can just blame it on the Mothman. that way when me and my daughters slay the beast, we will be seen as the town's heroes!" followed by both Domino and the Mayor smirking. after that, the Mothman then lands in front of the mob to use psychic powers to inflict pain on them before grabbing the Mayor by the neck, carrying him high into the air before landing atop the rebuilt Silver Bridge to look at the frightened human in the eyes, telling him "ever since the bridge collapse you turned the people of Point Pleasant against me. I was trying to warn the townspeople of the then-coming disaster, and you repaid me with slander! you are a lying, manipulative charlatan who deserves what's coming to you" followed by the Mothman dropping the Mayor off the bridge. however before he can fall into the river he is caught by Daniel's grappling hook. Daniel, Natalie, Rodney, and the Johnsons arrive on the scene to help the Mayor back up, followed by Domino and the twins along with the angry mob arriving on the scene to tell our heroes that they are too late to stop his plan to re-create the silver bridge collapse in order to draw out the Mothman so that he can kill him and make himself a local hero in the eyes of both the Mayor of Point Pleasant and the townspeople. the Mayor tells our heroes that it's true explaining to them that Domino had bombs planted under the bridge followed by the Mothman landing in front of Domino, scolding him for his evil plan to kill millions of innocent people just so he can pretend to be some hero of the people. the angry mob all stare at Domino awkwardly after hearing his plan, one woman asking Domino if what he said is true. Domino tries to distract the mob by playing the victim, getting down on his knees and pretending to be helpless, telling the mob "help! the mothman is attacking me! this monster who killed millions in the 1960s with the silver bridge collapse is planning on recreating the disaster now which will claim a million more lives! please stop this monster!", however Eliza intervenes and tells the people of Point Pleasant "the Mothman is not a monster nor was he directly responsible for the bridge collapse, the sightings in the 1960s leading up to that fateful day were the Mothman trying to warn us of the coming disaster and we all paid the price for not heeding the creature's warning. the Mothman saved me from the bridge collapse when i was but a little girl, you see he's not an omen of death or a bringer of bad luck after all, he was a prophet who was trying to save us all from a great catastrophe". the mob all put down their pitchforks and torches before Domino gets angry and flips the switch followed the first two bombs going off causing the bridge to crack knocking our heroes off their feet. Mothman tells Daniel and Natalie to get the people to safety while he flies under the bridge to deactivate the remaining bombs. Cindy hugs the Mothman's leg, begging for her new monster friend not to do this saying that he could die and she doesn't want to lose him. Mothman wipes a tear from Cindy's eye, telling her not to worry about him saying that he'll always be with her. Rodney uses his super-speed to get everyone to safety all the while Mothman flies under the Silver bridge and destroys the next four bombs. Meanwhile Domimo and the twins try to make their escape however they are stopped in their tracks by the X-copter where Bill and Helena show up to confront Domino who is less than enthusiastic to see his old friend turned nemesis again. Bill tells Domino that he has really gone too far this time, putting the lives of innocents at risk just so he can collect the bounty put on an innocent cryptid. Domino tells Bill that he is too late to stop his plan, as soon the bridge will crumble and the Mothman's head will be his. Helena traps the twins in an electric net while Domino unsheathes his cane-sword ready to strike down Bill who tells Domino that he doesn't care if he dies as he knows that Daniel and Natalie will be there to carry on his legacy after he's gone by protecting cryptids from the likes of him. however before Domino can get the chance to strike down Bill Natalie and Daniel arrive on the scene in the X-Jeep to protect Bill, Natalie activating the X-Jeep's transformation sequence into battle mode the mech-suit knocking Domino off the bridge with its giant metal fist. Dagger uses one of her knives to free herself and her sister from the net followed by the two charging at the mecha, Dagger firing a barrage of knives out of her cybernetic arm only for them to be deflected by the mech's force field. Daniel then activates the mech's flail arm to knock the twins off the bridge before the big robot picks up Bill and Helena with Bill thanking Natalie for coming to his rescue before we cut to the Mothman watching the three baddies fall into the river one by one telling them good riddance before flying towards the largest and final bomb's location. once the Mothman finds the big bomb, he is too late as it is ready to blow. the Mothman then grabs the big bomb and flies into the air carrying the bomb as far away from the town of Point Pleasant as he can. the bomb then goes off causing a massive explosion, the Mothman giving his life to save Point Pleasant from certain destruction. the people of Point Pleasant watch the explosion in shock followed by a bunch of black feathers falling to the ground. Cindy then picks up the feather and cries out the name "MOTHMAN!!!!" at the top of her lungs before being comforted by her granny Eliza all the while the dying Mothman falls out of the sky into the river below, the Mothman's last words being "goodbye, Eliza..." before closing his eyes and sinking into the river. Daniel and Natalie are shocked to see the Mothman sacrifice himself like that, all the while little Rodney starts crying. Bill then comforts the little Skyfish and tells Daniel and Natalie "the Mothman sacrificed his own life to save the very people who feared and hated him, the ultimate don't judge a book by its cover story". we then see Domino's personal jet rising out of the river, Domino swearing revenge on Bill and the Animal X natural mystery unit before blasting off. after that, we cut to the Mayor of Point Pleasant holding a memorial for the Mothman, delivering a eulogy to the People of Point Pleasant about how we were all wrong about the Mothman, he lived a life of being vilified and demonized by the citizens of point pleasant, and died saving them from a second catastrophe. he went from monster to martyr, and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. we then see the people of Point Pleasant holding a candlelight vigil for their winged red-eyed savior, placing candles and flowers all around the Mothman statue. Bill, Helena, Daniel, and Natalie watch as the Johnson family pay their respects for the fallen cryptid, and Bill asks Daniel and Natalie if they're going to memory-wipe the people of Point Pleasant or not. Natalie readies her memory-wipe device, and Daniel grabs her hand and tells her no, saying that it wouldn't be right to just let the people forget the Mothman's sacrifice, saying that what he did gives hope that one day humans and cryptids will learn to co-exist. Bill notices Daniel's point and tells him and Natalie very well before he and Helena take off in the X-copter. Daniel and Natalie along with Rodney then board the X-Jeep and activate flight mode before taking off, and Daniel notices a silhouette resembling the Mothman streaking across the sky ending our episode on a hopeful note that maybe the Mothman still lives after all.
