Featured Cryptid: Yowie

Our episode opens up aboard Domino's airship where we Domino punishing the twins for their incompetence, Cloak apologizes to her "father" saying that it wasn't their own fault and that it was Mayu's own incompetence that compromised the Japan mission. Domino tells the two that they won't be going on any missions any time soon since he can't trust them to get the job done and that instead he'll be sending Nile instead on today's assignment. Nile enters the room followed by Domino informing the African bounty hunter of his latest mission: go to the Australian Outback and hunt down the cryptid known as the Yowie. Nile groans which intrigues Domino, asking Nile what's wrong. Nile tells Domino that he had a former acquaintance who lived in Australia that he'd rather not see again, but since his bounty money's on the line he'll accept the job. we then cut to the Cryptozoology museum where we see Daniel and Natalie giving tours around the museum's exhibition dedicated to the many cryptids of Australia, passing by displays of things such as a Burrunjor skeleton, the stuffed Thylacine specimen, a Bunyip skull, the tadpole of a Hook Island Sea monster preserved in a jar of alcohol, and finally the footprint cast of a Yowie. Natalie explains to the tourists about how descriptions of the Yowie resemble the American legends of Bigfoot, one of many similar bipedal ape sightings across the world. once the tour is over and the tourists leave the museum, Bill contacts both of them telling the two to report to his office immediately. Daniel and Natalie look at each other and nod before taking the elevator down to Animal X HQ where they are greeted by Bill and Rodney, Bill telling Daniel and Natalie that he got a call from their old friends the Wallabies about sightings of the legendary Yowie by travelers in the Australian bush. and to make matters worse, it appears their old enemy Nile is also after the beast. Daniel and Natalie understand the seriousness of the situation and hop in the X-jeep along with Rodney and blast off. we then cut to the Yowie wandering through the Australian bush while Nile hides in the bushes and gets into sniper position ready to shoot the beast. however he is suddenly tackled by a masked hunter wielding a spear he holds up to Nile's neck, telling him "that yowie is MY kill, and I'm not letting a lowly deserter like you take it from me" followed by Nile punching the masked hunter with his robotic hand knocking his helmet off revealing it to be Dingo, the old acquaintance that Nile was talking about. Nile tells Dingo that he knew he would run into the likes of him as soon as he set foot on the land down under. a bunch of masked men and women wearing similar masks to him show up out of the bushes to point their guns at Nile, Dingo telling the Kenyan bounty hunter that he had some nerve coming back here after abandoning the pack to become Domino's personal goon-for-hire betraying the hunter's code. Nile tells Dingo that the hunter's code no longer means anything to him. one Pack member taps Dingo on the shoulder and tells him "uh boss, the Yowie's getting away". Dingo then sees the Yowie escaping and tells Nile to stay out of his way before whipping out his spear only for a boomerang to knock the spear out of his hand. Jack and Mindy Wallaby both then arrive on the scene followed by Jack catching the boomerang and telling the two that they're both in big trouble for attempting to poach a cryptid. Dingo then orders his men to attack followed by a platoon of pack members surrounding the wallaby twins. Mindy whips out a pair of twin arm-mounted energy shields while Dingo readies his boomerang followed by the two siblings tag-teaming against the pack Mindy blocking the gunfire with her twin energy shields while Jack knocks out the grunts with his boomerang. Dingo then picks his spear back up and goes on the attack charging at the two only for him to get attacked by Benjamin the Thylacine who bites his hand causing him to scream in pain before retreating. Nile watches Dingo's humiliation at the hands of a measly marsupial before chasing after the Yowie, whipping out a blowgun to blow a tracker dart onto the fleeing Yowie. however before he can corner the beast he is stopped in his tracks by the X-jeep in its mech form allowing the Yowie to escape. Nile whips out his rifle but is hopelessly outmatched with all of his bullets getting deflected by the mech's force field. Nile realizes he is out of ammo before the giant mech picks up the Kenyan bounty hunter with Daniel telling him that he's not going anywhere. Nile then whips out his pocket knife and stabs the mech in the arm causing the robot to short-circuit allowing Nile to escape. the wallaby twins both arrive on the scene followed by Rodney zipping out of the mech to greet the two followed by the poor skyfish getting a big wet lick from Benjamin. Daniel and Natalie then both hop out of the mech to greet the Wallaby Twins, Natalie shaking Jack's hand with Jack thanking Natalie and Daniel for coming saying that he and his sister could seriously use their help. Natalie tells Jack "sorry for your loss" upon noticing that he is still wearing his late father Murray's hat. Jack tells her that it's fine, saying that he and his sister are hard at work trying to uphold their father's legacy by protecting Autralia's cryptids from those who want to hurt them, such as the Black Dot. Daniel tries to flirt with Mindy, however she tells him that he's barking up the wrong tree making poor Daniel feel rejected followed by Natalie patting Daniel on the shoulder telling him "there, there..." while Jack asks Daniel and Natalie who the African guy with the dreads wearing a bear pelt was, and Natalie tells him that his name is Nile, he's a bounty hunter hired by the Black Dot followed by Daniel telling the twins that they've fought him before before asking who the guys in the wolf masks are. Mindy corrects Daniel, telling him "actually they're dingo masks" before Jack interjects to explain to our heroes that those guys are a gang of Cryptid hunters who call themselves The Pack, they're bad news because they kill cryptids for sport and they're after the Yowie. Daniel tells the twins that he was surprised when he saw the Yowie, saying that he had no idea that there were primates in Australia. Daniel flips through the Cryptozoologicon until he comes across the page on the Yowie. Daniel is shocked to learn that the Yowie is not a primate at all, but a large bipedal marsupial that is a result of convergent evolution to fill the same ecological niche as great apes, a "marsupial sasquatch" of sorts. Jack gets down on his knee to examine the Yowie footprints in the dirt, saying that the Yowie couldn't have gone that far and they have to hurry if they are to find it before Nile or the pack can. after that, we cut to Nile trekking through the Australian bush until he comes across Dingo, offering an alliance with his former packmate. Dingo asks Nile why he should trust a deserter like him, and Nile whips out a GPS tracker explaining that he managed to hit the Yowie with a tracking dart that will allow them to track down the creature more easily, with his help of course. And when they find it they will burn the Australian bush to the ground so that the beast will have nowhere to run. Dingo then reluctantly shakes hands with Nile, seeing the benefits of an alliance (although one's gonna totally betray the other in the end lol). we then cut to our heroes trekking through the Australian bush with Mindy slicing through underbrush with her energy knives. our heroes then come across the Yowie munching on a kangaroo carcass before walking down to drink at the stream, Mindy noticing a dart in the creature's butt. Natalie has flashbacks to their encounter with Nile, realizing that Nile must have put that dart in the Yowie's butt. Daniel chuckles upon hearing Natalie say "butt" only for Natalie to electrocute him with one of her electric batons telling him to stop being so childish. Jack then tells Daniel that he has a plan involving Daniel using his telepathy to get close to the yowie and calm it down so that he can remove the dart easily. Daniel understands and sneaks behind the Yowie, however the creature is alerted to his presence when Daniel steps on a twig causing the beast to turn around and growl at Daniel who is startled by the Yowie, however Daniel manages to regain his composure and closes his eyes before placing his hand on the creature's forehead to telepathically communicate with the cryptid calming it down. Daniel then removes the dart from the Yowie's butt to examine it. Daniel then notices a blinking red light attached to the dart and alerts the others that Nile's dart was a tracking device, which means he and the pack are probably hot on their tails. A squad of pack members then leap out of the bushes to surround both our heroes and the Yowie, little Rodney hiding behind Natalie while Benjamin growls at the army of masked men. Nile and Dingo both emerge from the bushes followed by Nile telling our heroes that there's no place for them or their precious cryptid to run and that thanks to his tracker they were able to both track down the Yowie and set up a trap for them pesky Animal X agents and now they will feel the wrath of the two greatest hunters in the world. our heroes are shocked to see the two hunters now working together, however before they can do anything Dingo orders his men to burn the place down to prevent them from escaping. The grunts then whip out flamethrowers to set the Australian bush ablaze causing a massive brushfire. our heroes watch in horror as Australian wildlife such as Kangaroos, Koalas, Emus, and Dingoes flee from the flames as fast as they can while poor Rodney zips around trying to dodge the falling trees causing Daniel to become enraged with Emotion causing his eyes to glow icy blue taking control of the Yowie and making it attack the pack members while the Natalie and the Wallaby twins try to rescue as many trapped animals as they can while the twins both watch in shock, as the two have never seen this side of Daniel before. however Natalie has, and tells them that it happens whenever he gets too emotional. Daniel then yells at both Nile and Dingo, telling them "look at all the damage you've done, both your egos and obsession with the hunt are literally setting nature on fire!" followed by the Yowie growling at both the hunters. Natalie is shooken by Daniel's words while the Yowie lunges at Dingo to strangle him, followed by Dingo begging Nile to help him. Nile realizes how down-south the situation has gone and tells Dingo "no" before fleeing the scene leaving him to die, which makes Dingo feel like an idiot for trusting someone who betrayed him once before. a bunch of pack members then burn the Yowie's back with their flamethrowers causing the beast to let go of Dingo and roar in pain as its back is burned followed by Natalie and the wallaby twins rushing in to protect the beast by taking out the remaining grunts. however help is on the way, as the X-copter flies in to drop water on the outback to douse the flames preventing the fire from spreading. the helicopter lands followed by Bill and Helena stepping out of the vehicle with Animal X personnel arriving on the scene to arrest Dingo who vows revenge on Nile before being taken away. Natalie is happy to see Bill and Helena, followed by Bill greeting Jack and Mindy wallaby, Bill noticing Jack wearing Murray's hat before telling him that his father would be proud while little Rodney nuzzles against Bill and Helena happy to see them again. Daniel begins to feel guilty for not being able to prevent the outback from being burned to a crisp, however Helena gives Daniel some scientific facts for encouragement telling him that brushfires have a part to play in the natural circle of life, saying that it is an essential contributor to habitat vitality and renewal. when a forest gets burned down, it allows for a new one to grow in its place. Daniel then turns his head to see the Yowie lying on the ground displaying the severe burn marks on its back. Daniel then walks up to the creature and places his hand on its back before closing his eyes while repeating Helena's words to him activating his healing powers causing the Yowie's burn marks to disappear and the fur on its back to grow back. the Yowie then gets back up and walks away followed by Daniel looking down to see a small bud growing out of the scorched ground indicating that mother nature will eventually heal which makes him smile. we then cut to Nile returning to Domino's airship where an irritated Domino asks Nile why he hasn't come back with the head of the Yowie, and Nile explains to Domino that his old rival Dingo got in the way. Domino understands before turning his attention to Doctor Uno to ask him where the twins went. Uno tells Domino he doesn't know, saying that they took off when he wasn't looking. we then cut to Cloak and Dagger sneaking around Animal X HQ disguised as Animal X agents, Dagger pinning several actual agents to the wall with her knives while Cloak explains to her sister that when they come back from this secret mission Domino will never see them as failures again before walking up to a prison cell which turns out to be none other than Blake's ending our episode on a cliffhanger.
