Chapter 25: Upgrade
After the Huntress saw Jonas preparing to make unconscious, he was stopped by the Vigilante and chided for his behavior.
Yet, the Huntress after reprimanding Jonas, the huntress did make the man unconscious herself.
'Hypocrite.'
Sensing Jonas staring at her with that intense stare made her uncomfortable and feel exposed for some reason. It felt like there are a lot of people staring at her, even the only one staring at her was the child. The Huntress explained to the unnerving kid.
" Let us do our thing, child. What have you done earlier is reckless behavior. "
Smiling, Jonas replied.
" I just want to help the Mister since he may accidentally hurt himself and the other people, Miss Huntress. But I heard that Robin is a child a long time ago, why can't I? "
" Kid... "
The Huntress sternly chided again. Jonas frowned at the way the Huntress address him.
" I'm Jonas. Please, don't call me kid or child. It's rude. "
" Is your parents one of the posh people? "
Jonas pouted. Huntress was right. His father was someone who followed polite and basic manners and courtesy up to the tee.
While the Huntress ignored him and started to communicate with someone on the weird device attached to her ear, suddenly the people in the cinema then started dropping like flies.
[ The generated amount of Fear from the people here in the cinema caused by a new type of fear gas was all absorbed.]
[ The flight or fight response of their bodies ended. All of the people's hormonal rush ended resulting in a crash. ]
Ending her communicator suddenly when she notice the people dropping like flies, the Huntress stared at the child.
Jonas in response blinked at her while shrugging. He then watched as the Huntress approached Bethany which Jonas found surprising.
[ The Archivist System has absorbed a large amount of fear and sacrificed it to the entities.]
[ The Dread Powers are pleased by the sacrifice.]
[ The Web suggested a reward]
[ The eye agrees to the suggestion ]
[ The end is thinking]
[ The hunt suggests empowering the little avatar more ]
[All of the current dread power agrees]
[ Do you want to upgrade the archivist system?
< Yes > <Agree > <Okay> ]
Jonas can feel a twitch at the corner of his mouth form when he heard the various notifications from the Archivist system.
Why even let him choose him if the only answer that he could choose was to confirm?
'Yes'
Feeling dizzy all of a sudden, Jonas decided to sit on one of the chairs and closed his eyes.
He doesn't know how long he closes his eyes as he loses track of time. When he opened his eyes again, he can hear the monotone voice of the Archivist System. But it wasn't just that, there was a transparent word appearing in front of him.
[ The Archivist System is upgraded]
