Are long chapters better or something like what. They're so much more fulfilling tbh

The first day of school was never my thing, however my birthday was for sure my day. My birthday was the seventh of September so it typically fell around when school started. I wasn't a fan of that but I loved celebrating my life. It made me feel like a real person with real feelings.

When I was younger we would always have a big party with tons of presents, toys, and people. My dad would always ruin it, but it was fun before he got bored and jealous of the attention I got at the time.

Now I just Celebrate with few people. Zayas always at my party's no matter what. We've celebrated together for years. My birthday is tomorrow and I don't think I'm celebrating very big this year. Maybe a small get together this coming weekend. It's Sunday right now and I'm sitting at home In my room, bored. Zaya is busy today so I can't even hang out with her. She didn't say what she was busy with but I assume it's something school related considering it starts tomorrow.

I'm not that excited to go but you gotta do whatever you gotta do I guess. I'm just waiting on basketball season. I'm one of the star players in the whole school. I just have to wait two months for football to end. Our school isn't that big but we still wait for the basketball-football boys to finish their last sport so we can start the season off good.

I've been on the varsity team since I was a sophomore. I started Jv and benched varsity. I'm pretty well known around the school and that low-key boosts my ego.

I smile at the memory of being on Jv and lean back in my chair. All the seniors and juniors were nice and it was just great being on a team. Freshman year was different. I was on C squad and benched Jv but I never played. It sucked being a second option for sports but I still enjoyed my team mates.

Me and Vicente played basketball from freshman year to junior year but now he just plays football like a loser. Just kidding he's actually really good at football. Vicente's the star quarterback and he was offered a d1 scholarship to a nice college.

He accepted it of course and he's waiting out the year. I've seen scouts at my games but never been offered before. I wouldn't mind going to college and trying out for the NBA.

I check my phone and the time reads 3:57. Almost four. My moms still out on vacation. I'm not sure where but I know it's somewhere tropical. I roll my eyes at their mess. She's there with Zayas mom, Diana. My mom always got them In trouble. They were such a cute friendship.

I should probably make lunch and pack my school bag. My school supplies were bought a month ago but I haven't packed my school bag yet and I might need it tomorrow. Seniors are typically favorited by teachers and the basketball coach's that teach. My coach, Mr. Hano is a history teacher. It's great seeing him every day even out of basketball. There's different coaches throughout the teams and I'm just glad to have Hano now instead of earlier.

My phone buzzes continuously on my desk. It's a call from Zaya.

"Yea what's up Zay?" I ask, eyeing my desk. My desk is filled with all kinds of clutter. My pencils and pens are in the cup and few are around my desk. I have a sketchbook that I draw in sometime, my computer for college essays and more, my drawers hold memories that boxes in my closet cannot.

"The usual just hanging out with the twins." She says and I can hear feminine voices in the background so I take her word for it.

"Oh alright sounds fun what you guys doing?" I ask waiting for an answer. After ten seconds she finally speaks.
