( KAREN: One thing to know about Odette back then, she never cried, or at least, when she did, it wasn't real, she had been an actress throughout her childhood, she knew how to shed fake tears. When she told me about all the shit her mother put her through, I sat there and listened to her talk about her mother had controlled so much of her that Odette often couldn't look in the mirror without hating herself. I listened to her saying the most heartbreaking things about herself and was amazed at how she managed to act okay about it when she clearly wasn't, it was clear in the way she spoke she wasn't okay.
