One who has loved truly, can never lose entirely.

Past || Leonardo

Seven years ago....

I huffed, sitting on my bed with a sigh.

All that cleaning had tired me out! Matteo didn't even bother to lend a hand, he just sat on the side, watching me with a frown on his face.

I didn't ask for his help though, I couldn't do that to my favourite brother.

The maids were kind enough to help me out and they even fed me! I was a really good boy since I got fed such a huge meal than I normally would.

I asked one of them for my stuffie but they said I wasn't allowed it, per Giovanni's request, well I think he demanded it. He didn't say it in a nice way.

That made me sad. I really liked that stuffie.

My bedroom door slammed open and Antonio walked towards me.

"Father's asking for you." He said in his usual cold voice.

I noticed that it changed when he talked to our brothers or papa. It was always cold to me. That made me frown but I covered it up with a smile and said," Okay!"

I stood up from my bed and followed behind him, walking to father's office.

Antonio hesitated whilst holding the doorknob to father's office.

He kept his back to me and said in a slightly soft tone," Whatever happens today, just know it's for the best," His voice hardened," Someone like you, doesn't belong here, with people like us."

I frowned at his words, not understanding the deep meaning behind them before following him into father's office.

He sat in his chair, surrounded by heaps of papers, a cup of coffee next to him.

Father put his hands under his chin, his silver rings shining and stared at me with cold eyes.

"Pack whatever you deem necessary, you are going to a boarding school. It will benefit both of us."

My eyes widened at his words," P-Papa please! Please d-don't send me away!"

He stood up from his chair and advanced towards me.

"You will be going. My decision is final." His tone indicated he was beginning to grow angry.

I looked at Matteo. He was quiet and looking at me with a warning look in his eyes.

I ignored him and carried on," B-But what about T-Teo?"

Father's nostrils flared and a harsh slap could be heard.

I held my aching cheek in my palm and sniffled.

Father took my face in his hands, squeezing my cheeks in a bruising hold.

"Never, and I repeat never, mention his name again. Do you understand?!" He seethed.

I tried to turn to Teo but my father's bruising hold only got stronger.

"Do you understand?" He said through gritted teeth.

I shakily tried to nod and that seemed to be enough.

He let go of my face and I gasped.

"Pack." Was all he said before sitting down again.

I said nothing and walked out of his office, my head cast down, not paying attention to where I was going.
