Few months back at KL Sentral, the bustling hub of city rail services and the pulsating heart of the burgeoning CBD, flocks of corporate professionals clad in smart casual attire, adorned with an array of colorful lanyards, filled the bustling thoroughfares during the customary lunchtime rush. Towering skyscrapers housing prominent multinational corporations dominated the skyline, lending an air of bustling activity and purpose to the vibrant metropolis. Despite many dining options in the area, the ubiquitous presence of fast-food outlets, including the popular McDonald's, attracted a diverse mix of white-collar workers and transient travelers bustling within the transport hub. The sight of multiple queues snaking towards the ordering counter was a familiar scene, as the midday crowd jostled to secure their choice of dine-in or takeaway meals, adding to the frenetic energy that permeated the locale.

On one of the queues, there stood a young man whose striking features cut a distinguished figure amidst the lunchtime rush. With a rectangular face, a prominent nose, and a strong, flat chin, his five-foot stature exuded an air of quiet confidence. His black hair, expertly styled into short, spiked strands, accentuated his chiseled jawline. Clean-shaven, a hint of light stubble graced his defined jaw, adding a rugged touch to his polished appearance. He wore a neatly folded collared shirt, its sleeves rolled up to his elbow. A lanyard hung loosely around his neck, holding an identification tag that read 'Norman J. Wilson,' its corner adorned with the Droidz logo—an emblem of the local branch of a renowned MNC specializing in advanced smartphone applications. Droidz, a startup born from a collective of individuals who departed from a world-famous US-based search engine, bore the mark of innovation and ambition. Standing adjacent to him in the queue was his good friend and colleague, Sam, whose buoyant personality often drew him into spontaneous conversations with anyone he encountered, regardless of their response.

Sam extended a friendly gesture toward a young Caucasian woman standing in the adjacent queue. With a warm smile, she replied, 'Hello.'

'So, you're on holiday?' Sam initiated a conversation, his cheerful demeanor unceasing.

Norman, who overheard him, couldn't help but crack a faint smile while his gaze remained fixated on the menu displayed above the counter. He contemplated his meal choice as the conversation unfolded.

'Next, please,' the voice of the person behind the counter called out. The customer in front of Norman shifted to the right, joining the line designated for waiting as their orders were prepared.

Norman stepped forward, now standing before the counter, his focus still directed toward the overhead menu as he weighed his options. The girl at the counter greeted him, 'Welcome to McDonald's, Sir. Would you prefer to dine in or take away?'

His head remained slightly tilted upwards, his deep brown eyes briefly flickered as they met the girl's gaze, only to return to the menu above. Slowly, he lowered his gaze to meet her eyes, his thoughtful expression offering a silent response.

Norman's gaze was instantly captured by a pair of enchanting brown eyes. Framed by faultless brows and adorned with long, gracefully upturned lashes, they held an almost mesmerizing quality. Her straight, dark brown hair was neatly gathered into a bun and concealed under a cap that shaded her forehead. The soft, vibrant contours of her cheeks and the celestial shape of her nose seemed to make her all the more captivating. Her lips, full and expressive, moved, but the words eluded Norman's ears as he remained transfixed, lost in her presence.
