The Warehouse  

Valerie suppressed the surging feelings in her heart and maintained her expre ssionless face as she returned to her room.

She closed the room door and stood there still. She stood there in a daze.

She gasped for air and tried to calm herself down.

When she totally calmed down, she walked to the desk, took an adhesive tape  from her school, and pieced the papers little by little.

Occasionally, she would stop and stare at her homework in a daze.

Then she came back to her senses and continued what she was doing.

Her calm appearance made Jayvion, who was peeking at the door, feel a little shocked.

He thought for a while and went to check the fridge in the kitchen. He wanted t o see whether there were any desserts to cheer her up.

He wasn’t there when Reyna scolded Valerie, but he heard about it from other  servants. Valerie was really pitiful.

Jayvion quickened his steps and went to see whether there were still any delic ious desserts left.

Those desserts were bought for Zoe by Reyna and Reese. Reyna and Reese said that when Zoe behaved herself, she could eat the desserts.

So, there were really a lot of desserts in the fridge.

Jayvion searched in his memory for Zoe’s favorite desserts.

“Jayvion.”

Reyna suddenly called Jayvion and shocked him.

“Mrs. Horton, do you need any help?”

“Um… Nothing. Who’s angry? You are going to cook something again?” Jayvion stopped searching for desserts and felt a little nervous.

When seeing Reyna’s sincere eyes, Jayvion still chose to tell the truth.

“Mrs. Horton, I want to get Ms. Valerie some desserts. She has never eaten th e desserts in the fridge. She looks upset tonight. I want to get some desserts t o cheer her up.”

Jayvion was serious when seeing this.

He was observing Reyna’s expression.

Indeed, after he said this, Reyna seemed to be shocked.

“She has never eaten the desserts?”

The desserts were bought for Zoe. That was true. But there were a lot of desserts in the fridge. Whoever wanted to eat the desserts could take some.

Reyna frowned.

“She can take some if she wants. Nobody forbade her to do that.”

“Mrs. Horton, you once told Ms. Valerie that these are all for Ms. Zoe. Ms. Valerie follows your order and never eats the desserts.” Reyna froze.

Reyna opened her mouth but didn’t say anything.

Sometimes, she would bring Zoe here to the fridge and say these words to make Zoe happy.

Valerie might have heard this.

Reyna took a deep breath.

“Jayvion, I came to ask you where Valerie’s room is. Tell me. And I will send her some desserts.”

“Yes. Mrs. Horton.”

Jayvion smiled. He felt relieved in his heart.

He thought that Reyna would stop him from bringing Valerie desserts.
