Ash and the group were walking through the Viridian Forest when they then ended up in Pewter city
"So this is Pewter city huh" Ash said
"Yeah but anyway your going to need a specific move if you wanna be able to defeat this gym leader" Orion said
"Well this is a rock type gym leader so, Pop Quiz what move type can Pikachu learn that's super effective against Rock types" Orion said
"Oh Pikachus can learn iron tail so steel type" Ash said
"ding ding ding you got it. We gotta make your Pikachu learn iron tail" Orion said
"Great so how?" Ash asked
"Well first of all Pikachu should already know tail whip so if we practice enough with it hitting items with its tail it should eventually learn Iron tail" Orion said
(While it isn't true nothing in original series ever made sense in moves specifically)
Ash and Orion soon taught Pikachu how to use iron tail
"so are you ready Ash" Orion asked
"Oh yeah I am especially with Pikachu learning iron tail" Ash said
When they all got their Ash and the gang were met with someone who looked like they were meditating
"Hello their, my name is Brock and I am the gym leader of Pewter city now then tell me how many badges you have" the guy said
"Oh I have 0 badges" Ash said
"Okay then I will use these two pokemon" Brock said as he took out two Pokeballs
"so are you ready" Brock said as he got ready for battle
"Oh yeah I am" Ash said
"Now then go geodude" Brock said as he threw a pokeball
"alright then Pikachu I choose you" Ash said as he sent Pikachu out
"Hah, Geodude I choose you" Brock said as he threw his pokeball
"Pikachu use iron tail" Ash said Pikachu hit Geodude
"alright Geodude use rock tomb" Brock said as several rocks crashed down from the sky
"Pikachu use the rocks to gain a high advantage and then use iron tail" Ash said
Pikachu then started scaling up the rocks and then landed a hard iron tail down on Geodude and it fainted
"Geodude is unable to battle so the winner is Pikachu" The referee said
"Alright you took down one of my Pokemon but let's see how you will do against this. Go Onyx" Brock said as he returned his Geodude and threw another pokeball out
"Okay Pikachu iron tail again" Ash said as the iron tail didn't do much damage
"onyx use bide. Now I have to wait two turns before Onyx can attack" Brock said
"Okay then Pikachu uses tail whip consecutively" Ash said as Pikachu started to use tail whip
"No bide can't work if you do that. You know what Onyx use rock tomb" Brock said
"Pikachu keep using tail whip till his defence can't get lower" Ash said as Pikachu kept using tail whip while taking damage and then Onyx defense was at 0
"Alright, Pikachu use iron tail one last time" Ash said as Pikachu hit Onyx and it fainted
"So you used an iron tail to make it where Onyx could faint in one hit. That's smart" Brock said
"Well I lost fair and square so here is proof that you beat the pewter city gym leader. The boulder badge" Brock said as he gave Ash the Boulder Badge
"alright I got the boulder badge" Ash said in joy as the gang left the gym
