Sirens echoed around the apartment, blue and red flashing lights accompanying them. Ruby sat beside her brother with her head resting against his shoulder, the two of them shared a blanket the paramedics had given them. Rubys arm had been wrapped, same with Mindy. Anika had a tarp over her corpse and Detective Bailey had gone up to the apartment probably to identify Quinn, it was only half an hour after everything had happened. Blair had been called and was on her way as well as Jade and Kai even though they were specifically told to stay at their apartment, her dad had also been called and he was on his way alongside Kirby who he was working the case with. Since it was pretty late in the evening there was only a small crowd behind the police tape and news reporters where the other side behind all the cop cars where the survivors and alley couldn't be seen. Ruby didn't know how to feel, she'd only just stopped crying, her heart had completely broke. She loved Anika and she liked Quinn too, neither of the girls deserved that ending
A car then pulled up behind the tape catching Rubys attention, not wasting any time both doors swung open and out came her mother and Frankie. Ryder and Ruby both perked up at the sight of their aunt that they hadn't seen for a while, she must've heard what was going on and got here asap. Meanwhile both adult women were stressing the fuck out, Frankie had indeed heard what was going on and this time she wasn't about to take a seat knowing full well last time someone she cared about was killed. Ruby immediately got up sprinting towards her mom with Ryder doing the same
"Ruby! Ryder!" Blair called out, the teens immediately ran straight into her arms, she caught her kids in her arms letting out a deep sigh of relief, all her previous worries fading away knowing her kids were alive and okay "thank god you're both okay" Blair muttered holding her kids tightly. Ruby couldn't help the sobs that escaped her, the last hour had been nothing short of a nightmare - she just wanted it all to be over. And Ryder hadn't quite felt panic like that since he found out Jade and Tara had been attacked and Dewey had died, he'd tried getting back into the apartment after being locked out but they didn't have much hope and when the screaming died down they knew they had to move before Ghostface made his exit
"Hey, aunt Ki" Ruby said moving out of her mothers arms and into her aunts, sadness still evident in her voice "hey, Rubes" Frankie done her best to give the girl a comforting hug, she knew there was nothing she could do to make the teen feel better so she was going to do her best to just be there
"Is everyone okay?" Blair asked her son after a second pulling away. Ryder sighed heavily "I'm okay — we're okay but he got Quinn and Anika" Blair's face fell she didn't know the two girls well but she still liked them both, she knew Ruby was close with Anika. Jesus, watching that probably killed Ruby on the inside - god, Mindy! The poor girl must be heartbroken, she made a note to go check on Mindy after. She looked over at her daughter that was sobbing into her aunts T-shirt, Blairs heart broke for her. The woman's eyes meeting Frankie's the two sharing a look
