"You can keep pondering on which thing to do first or which path to take or by simply taking action now of most any kind, you may just find yourself on the way to where you most needed to go." ― April Bryan

[Yvonne's POV]

I had my luggage pack with mostly bathing suits and summer dresses, toiletries and my under garments. I don't know how long will we stay, but I made sure to pack enough clothes.

He left before 8 and it's already 11, but he's not here yet.

"Go to bed, mom." I told my mom when I saw her battling with her eyes to keep it open.

"I can stay up more, caro." mom replied smiling drowsily, as she stifled her yawn.

We were in the living room, chatting while waiting for Demetrio to pick me up. I was waiting for his call, but to no luck. Mom thought of staying with me until he comes, but it's already past 11, but no sign of him.

Mom had been stifling his yawn and battling with her eyes to open. Nana and papou had long gone to bed, since they were both exhausted and Ella has to go to bed early since tomorrow she has an exam.

"I insist mom. Go to bed. I'll call you when we get to the place. Promise." I cajoled. I felt so bad for her. I know she's exhausted.

"Are you sure?" she asked groggily.

"Yes, mom! Go." I smiled reassuringly.

"Well, let me know if you get there then, caro. I love you!" mom hugged me, then she stood up lazily, dragging herself to her room.

I sighed heavily.

I leaned my back on the couch, clutching my phone on my chest incase he will call me, as I tried to get a little nap.

[Demetrio POV]

I woke up with a tap in my shoulder.

Then, I realized I slept on the chair, watching my dad the whole night. I remember asking mom last night to go home and have a good rest while I watch dad.

I looked up and saw mom looking at me worriedly.

"You need some rest. Go home and take a rest. I'll watch your dad today." she said forcing a smile. I just nod and after glancing at my dad still sounds asleep in his bed, I made my way to the parking lot where I parked my car.

"FUCK!" I hissed when I remember Yvonne.

I promised to come pick her up last night. I forgot to call her even, to let her know that dad is in the hospital.

"Stupid Demetrio!" I chided myself, talking to myself like a fool.

I ran my hands through my thick hair in frustrations and pulled my phone out of my pocket. My forehead furrowed in disappointment, mostly of myself.

I walked hastily to the parking lot while waiting for the call to be connected. The phone was just ringing but it never connected. I dialled it again but the same thing, no answer. And, to make my frustrations worst, she doesn't have a voicemail.

I decided to go see her later.

For now, I need to have a shower and sleep. I checked on the time in my cellphone and it's only 7 in the morning. I knew it was early dawn when I fell asleep.

I spotted my car and unlocked it as I walked closer.

Shortly, I'm driving on the highway to my penthouse.
