The house contains mile long hallways, and doors that open into walls. The house was constructed with the help of Sarah Winchester. Construction of the home went on for 38 years, 24 hours a day. After Sarah lost her husband and daughter to sudden illnesses she sought help from a spiritual advisor to overcome her depression. The advisor warned Sarah that her family had been struck by a curse and that she would be haunted by the spirits killed by the Winchester rifle. The advisor said the only way to please the dead was to build a house for the lost souls, and never stop building. Today visitors visit the house and look for the number 13 plastered everywhere.
