The Ohio State Reformatory- Mansfield, Ohio

The structure was built in 1896 with the goal of reforming juvenile and young-adult offenders. The reformatory was open for decades. But finally closed permanently in 1990 after years of overcrowding, violence, and inmates having to live in inhuman conditions. Years after it has shut down something still remains. The restless spirits of those who still linger and wander the cells of the old reformatory. A legend says a heartbroken spirit by the name of Helen, wife of a former warden, can be heard crying out in her former quarters and her rose scented perfume continues to linger.
