Chapter 13 - Good news or Bad news

Katherine's POV

Waiting in a hospital.

I was never a fan of that.

I hate waiting.

And i hate hospitals.

So you kind of know how awful it is right now.

Especially that the man inside is my father in law and he may or may not make it out alive.

And if things didn't go will , i know how devastated Ashton would be.

I know that. No, i am sure because i saw the tears in his eyes in the morning.

With every single tear went down , a piece of my heart went with it.

He is sitting beside me now whereas everyone else is sitting a little bit far.

I turned my head to look at him , he looked back at me and gave me a small pained smile.

I returned the smile , it was a pained one as well.

Both of our smiles are fake, and we both know it.

His hand went toward my cheek , "Are you okay ?" He asked.

Oh Ashton !

You are asking me if i am okay when you're nothing but okay.

I nodded answering his question the smile still on my face , then i leaned my head and placed it on his shoulder.

He is probably asking because i threw up in the morning after breakfast. It's been a while since i had these morning sickness which somehow weird.

And i still feel a little dizzy and every now and then i feel a contraction in my stomach.

But maybe its because of stress and the nervousness due to every thing happening.

Maybe.

"Do you want something to eat or drink? " Ashton's voice jerked me back from my thoughts.

"Uh no." I pulled away and shook my head.

"But you need to eat , your face looks so pale." He said caressing my cheek.

"Are you saying i look ugly ?" I said frowning. He chuckled then leaned closer to give me a peck on the lips, "You're always beautiful baby."

I know I shouldn't, but that small four lettered word made my heart flutter.

"I am gonna go get you something." He said again and i nodded. Even though i am not hungry but He is right , i should eat.

He stood up ready to go , and that's when i saw Alex walking toward us. When he spotted Ashton , he walked faster till he reached him.

"I just heard what happened." He said looking at Ashton with worried eyes , "How is he ?" He asked placing his hand on Ashton's shoulder.

"I don't know." Is all what Ashton said.

I won't say i wasn't a little bit surprised when Alex pulled Ashton and hugged him.

"He is going to be okay." Alex said , you can detect how concerned he is from his tone.

Ashton was probably surprised like me by Alex's sudden action but it didn't take him long till he hugged him back.
