It has been a week of boring orientation sessions and introductory lessons for both of the girls and both girls feel like quitting. Dinah, especially, has had it the hardest. She does not seem to understand this country and it's taking her longer than she would like to adapt. 

"Mani, I don't get it here! They say 'hold the lift' when they really mean 'hold the elevator'. That does not make sense and it's confusing," the younger girl ranted to her friend through her rose gold MacBook Air, which she loves so much. "Yesterday, some girl asked me to get her book in her car's boot and she meant her trunk, Mani. It's like I'm in an alternate universe."

Mani couldn't help but laugh at her friend. It was a rare occasion to experience a frustrated Dinah, she was always so cool about things and literally giggled at everything. This was something Normani was going to miss about Dinah, her giggles. But hey, thanks to Steve Jobs and the internet they aren't completely out of touch. 

"Dinah, don't they have like a buzzfeed account there that will make it easier for you? I mean surely they must have something." the older girl asked while taking another hot wing and starting to devour it.

"Well they do have this YouTube lady named Suzelle but she has a thick Afrikaans accent and I can't hear anything she says. I guess I'll just have to ask China tomorrow."

"Ooh China! Girl, spill all the tea!" Mani yelled excitedly while Dinah just rolled her eyes. She knew that this was going to happen but she couldn't help but frown when she remembered that China was taken.

Yes, you read that correctly. China was now dating Pearl Thusi as of three days ago. The girl was just wondering about campus one afternoon, with Dinah, when she was met with a nervous looking Pearl holding a huge bouquet of daisies and a sign asking the girl to be her girlfriend. Of course, China said yes! However, she wasn't really sure that that is what she wanted because she was developing feelings for the Polynesian girl.

"Oi, there's nothing to spill. Besides, she's taken so please take your mind out of the gutter," she quipped with disappointment laced in her voice.

"Tsk, that has never stopped you. You're Dinah Jane Hansen, the bad ayuus, Miss Steal Yo Girl, this is a small obstacle and I'm sure you can find a way to get over it and get the girl."

Both girls erupted into a fit of laughter knowing that it was true what Normani had said about the girl. She had experienced Dinah's swift moves first hand, however, they decided to keep just being friends. Besides, Norminah shippers everywhere would have had their lives made.

"Dawg, I came here to learn not ruin people's relationships. China is a sweet girl but like I don't think we're compatible, our names can't even create a ship name since they are so similar, " Dinah let out a huge sigh. She picked up her laptop and put it on the other side of the bed so that she can turn; it was already late at night for her.

"Fuck that, let me see a picture of this girl and let me be the judge of that because the ship name is not what makes a relationship work, Dj. Lemme see her bish!"

Dinah let out a small laugh and got up to fetch her phone that was charging. She went through her camera roll and looked for a good picture of China, she had lots of them since China loved asking her to take pictures of her. Eventually, she found one and it was from their second day at school. China looked flawless and her curls were neatly tucked into two space buns. Her lips looked very plump and glossed as she stared at the camera intensely. Dinah turned her phone to show it to Normani.

"Sweet mother of Selena Gomez, she looks fine Dj! If you don't do something to get her, I will! How is she even real?! Dinah Jane you get to see that everyday. I don't know if I want to be her or be on her! This is confusing, I'm struggling," Mani swooned and Dinah laughed at her friend's fangirling moment.

"Hahahaha Mani, come on. You are being silly. Yeah, she's cute but you're being creepy about it," Dinah called her friend out and kept laughing.

"Okay fine, I'm sorry. I had to take a moment, I'm done. Hot damn that was intense," Mani said as she picked up her now empty box that used to be filled with hot wings.

"Yeah Mani, I gotta go now. I have a long day tomorrow and it is China's movie premiere so there's that," the younger girl let out a small yawn as emphasis. It was almost ten and she really was sleepy.

"Okay boo. I will check in with you tomorrow and you better have a plan on what to do with that fine girl. Goodnight and I love you."

"Yeah yeah yeah Mani, I love you too. Byeee," she waved to the camera and closed her laptop.

Now it was really quiet in her apartment. She stood up to put her phone back on the charger and also pee. She also came to the conclusion that she was a bit hungry because she had watched Normani eat.

Fortunately, there was still pizza left from dinner. She got a slice and reheated it. Her phone buzzed from the counter it was charging on and she went to retrieve it. It was a message from China.

Dinah laughed at the nickname she had been given since she found it cute. She replied before putting her phone back down.

😂 language Missy! You'll be fine. Get some sleep and tomorrow morning we'll get some grub and work off those nerves yeah?

It took a while for the girl to reply and when she did, Dinah had finished her slice and had already brushed her teeth.

Okay I'll try and get some sleep. Goodnight Deej, I'll see you tomorrow bright and early.

Dinah replied with a simple goodnight back and set an alarm for six because knowing China, she'd force her to run with her. She finally placed her phone back on the charger and switched off all the lights and made her way to bed.

Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
