darkness and void filled her,
she felt helpless and lost.
though she didn't expect
the outcome it had cost.
her phone had notified her
with an unexpected invitation.
taking her off guard
and filling her with exhilaration.
joyful tears stream down her cheeks
like Niagara Falls.
after these dark days and weeks,
she finally pushed aside them all.
she let her heart open up once again,
taking in all the happiness and emotion.
her face lit up
and she departed from all dejection.
darkness and void filled her,
she felt helpless and lost.
everything was over, for now;
but, she wasn't risking that happiness to be lost.
