"I'm so proud of you Charlotte! I can't believe you pulled that off" Coach says, pulling me into a hug as I skate off the ice
He hands me my guards and I slip them on my blades before saying, "I'm actually surprised I made it. I thought all hope was lost"
Coach laughs at my reply and the two of us head over to the Kiss & Cry, waiting in anticipation for the results
My program wasn't flawless that's for sure. The landing on my triple lutz combo was a little shaky but still there, my other two jumps were fine though
I slip on my Team Canada jacket, my legs shaking with anxiety
Suddenly it feels like I'm back at Sochi, feeling like time has slowed down

"WE DID IT!" I scream and soon I'm laughing of joy

Yuzu is laughing, watching the two of us hug it out back stage
"My turn!" He shouts and pulls me from Javi's chest, into his own
"Wow, ok Hanyu. I didn't know you were the jealous type" Javi says, crossing his arms jokingly
Our laughing and hugging comes to an end when we hear the announcer's voice boom though the stadium once again
"The total score please, for Evgenia Medevedeva of Russia....76.24. She is currently in first place"
Well I might not have won gold in the short but at least there's the free. For once in two years I'm finally not the bottom of the pile. I've got a good score against Evgenia too; I'm only about 0.26 points behind her
"It's ok Charlie-san. You can get her back in the free, I know you can!" Yuzu say encouragingly, pulling back into another hug

After the zamboni finished resurfacing the ice, the men's group was ready to take it's place
"Good luck guys! I know you can both do your best" I say, grabbing both of them into a tight side hug
"Competitors, please take the ice for your 6 minute warm up"
"Go get em boys!" I shout as they go to take the ice
Once the boys are out on the ice, I walk over to stand with Coach Orser who's watching the boys practice
"You did a great job today Charlie" Coach says still watching the two goofs on the ice
"Thanks Coach, but you've praised me enough today" I say jokingly, nudging his shoulder
"I mean it Charlie. I see your potential to win the competition, you're not too far off from Medvedeva" Coach voices as he turns to look at me
I nod my head and turn back to the ice
Javi lands his quad sal, while Yuzu is having trouble with his quad loop
In frustration, I see him get off the ice and make a bee line towards Coach and I
"Alright Yuzu, don't over rotate that loop; it's the key in your arsenal..."He goes on telling Yuzu what to improve
Before, he can leave the sideline to go back and practice, I grab his hand
"You can do it ok? I believe in you; you are unstoppable"
I feel him pull me towards him from the neck, and soon our foreheads are pressed against each other
"Anata wa watashi ni totte, totemo daiji na sonzai desu" he whispers, loud enough for me to hear it
He's gone before I can reply and once again I feel the heat rushing to my cheeks
"What did your boyfriend say?" Coach whispers, leaning his head over to me
"Uhh.. wish me good luck" I lie
My heart can't help but skip a beat at what he said
"You mean so much to me"

I'm standing next to Coach as Yuzu take the ice, getting ready for his short
"You got this" I say, watching as he pushes off the boards and onto the ice

Yuzu steps off the ice with a disappointed look on his face. The quad loop attempt wasn't successful and the quad sal was turned into a triple
"The total scores please for Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan...79.65, he is currently in second place" the announcer speaks
The competition goes on and by the end Yuzu has dropped to fourth place, while Javi took fifth
"Guys, you both did really well and I mean it" I say as the four of us walk out of the arena to head back to the hotel
"Thanks Charlie-san, but I'm still disappointed. I thought I had that quad loop and the sal shouldn't have been a triple" He tells me in Japanese
"Your human Yuzu, you make mistakes; fall and get back up, ok?" I tell him as I pat him on the back
He turns to give me a light smile, using Pooh-san to peck my nose
