Liam: From the audience, you watch your boyfriend and his four bandmates get in their positions. The all-too familiar beats of WMYB begin to play and you can see Liam tapping his foot to the rhythm. The boys were performing live on Good Morning America, one of the most watched morning shows on television...not to mention it's additional viewers due to One Direction being on! Liam's cue to begin singing hits and you wait for his melodic voice to belt out the first line of the song, but you hear nothing but the drums and guitar in the background. You look at Liam quickly, but he's just staring into the crowd mindlessly, his face pale, as if he can't believe he'd missed his cue. "...don't know what for..." he sings, catching up with the music. The other four boys look at him with shock and concern, but they continue on the performance and you notice Liam's lack of smiles during the remainder of the song. As soon as the performance ends, you rush backstage to greet the brunette. "I totally screwed that up," he sighs, shaking his head. He looks so disappointed in himself and you feel just awful. You wrap him in a hug and he buries his face on your shoulder. "How did I mess that up? It's a song we've done hundreds of times for Christ's sake!" You rub his back in small circles and the other four boys don't seem to be even the slightest bit disappointed in Liam. "Happens to the best of us," Harry shrugs, reminding Liam of the time Harry messed up his solo in WMYB a few months ago. "Don't beat yourself up about it," you soothe, placing your hand on Liam's cheek. "I just..." he trails off, his eyes filled with sorrow. You cut him off with a kiss, which certainly suffices in making him forget about the messed up performance.

Louis: You peer from behind the curtains of the backstage area and look up at your boyfriend and his mates proudly. The five of them had booked a show performing live at the Grammy's, and they couldn't be more excited. The Grammy's was one of America's most prestigious and popular award shows! They all hop around the stage enthusiastically, singing the beats to their latest single and making the audience go wild. You notice confetti from the act prior still littered the stage and nervously dig your fingernails into your palm. The confetti all over the slipperl floor where your boys were dancing around didn't exactly make for the safest scenario. As if on cue, Louis' loafer catches on a stray piece of the glittery paper and sends him sprawling backwards. You hear an audible gasp from the audience and you watch Harry run over with concern, the other three boys turning quickly and trying to keep up the song. Your heart falls, then rises again as Louis gets up with a small smile, laughing off the fall and rubbing his now-bruised backside softly. As the song ends and Louis finally greets you backstage, his smile has faltered. "Are you all right?" you ask him quickly, brushing a strand of auburn hair from his face. "Phsycially? I'm fine, just a bit bruised," he sighs, shaking his head. "Mentally? Preparing myself for all the jokes and countless pictures and 'gifs' people will make of this." You can't help but notice his usually light demeanor has been replaced by embarrassment and vulnerability, a side of him you didn't see too often. "Lou, it'll be fine, you've gotten through much worse," you remind him, thinking back to all the gifs and pictures and jokes about him you'd seen since becoming his girlfriend. "I know," he breathes, kissing your forehead. "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." You give him a small smile and nod, placing your hand on his bum gingerly. "Now, how about we get some ice for that ass of yours? You hit it pretty hard when you fell."

Harry: Nearly the entire population was watching the event live. What event? Why, the Superbowl, quite possibly the most watched event in all of America. It was even more watched, seeing as One Direction would be performing live on the field. You jumped along with the crowd, your VIP pass flopping around on it's lanyard as you danced along to the catchy beat of WMYB. You, Eleanor and Danielle watched your boyfriends and their bandmates proudly, their voices playing over the speakers and their figures just feet away on stage. As Harry's solo came up, you paused and watched your nervous-looking boy nervously. Harry's hands were shaking and you could tell he was afraid of messing up. You bit your lip and felt your heart pounding as you tried to send him good vibes. Every teenage girl in America was on the edge of her seat...would he mess up his solo again? "Baby you light up my world like nobody else," he sings, his voice steady and strong. He pauses to take a breath, not having measured them properly and his face falls. He picks up the remainder of the solo a bit late and you hear a few audible gasps from the crowd. You bite your fingernails nervously, wishing you could run onstage and give him a hug right then and there. Liam pats the younger boy's shoulder reassuringly as the song closes and applause fills the room. You watch the five color-coordinated boys trail offstage to the private closed-off area for musical guests and jog over to meet them. "Harry, don't do it," you say, as soon as the curly-haired boy's in view. He's perched on the edge of a folding chair, his phone in his hand and his face somber. He looks up at you with a pained look in his green eyes and you know he already had. He searched 'Harry shit' as he always did after every bad performance. You hated how people who didn't know him could make him feel so bad. You reminded him of the millions of girls who still loved him and did great (including yourself) but it didn't make him feel any better. The problem was he cared too much what some people thought. He was so hard on himself all the time and it killed you. You quickly take the phone from his hand and pull a chair over, sitting beside him. "Don't listen to any of that," you say softly, noticing his emerald eyes were a deeper shade and were wet with tears. "It's all true. I fucked up and millions got to see. I let everyone down, I suck," he sniffs, leaning his head in your lap. You run your fingers through his curls and let out a sigh. "Harry, if you honestly believe you suck, tell me how you won a Brit award, a Teen Choice Award, got platinum albums..." you list as many of he and One Direction's amazing accomplishments as you run mindlessly play with his hair, until he finally lets out a deep sigh. "All right," he says softly, leaning up and giving you a soft kiss. You know this whole performance and his mistake will haunt him for quite a bit, you know he'll never quite get over it, but you also know he's going to be all right.

Zayn: The audience is on their feet, dancing and singing along to the catchy lyrics in 'Tell Me A Lie'. You know, like you, they're all waiting for the one particular part of the song. Zayn's infamous high note. The whole stadium is packed, One Direction had been booked to sing at the World Cup opening ceremony and so many wild fans were dotting the bleachers. You were watching patiently from the VIP, screened off area, proudly watching your boyfriend and his mates perform like they'd never performed before. After realizing they weren't performing the cliche WMYB or the second go-to song One Thing, fans had gone twice as wild and so had you. "Tell me a lie," Zayn sings softly, preparing for the next high note. Fans teetered on the edge of their seat with anticipation. Millions watched the live event from their TV screens and waited for the perfect note to stream through the speakers. "Tell me a lie--" Zayn sings, holding his microphone to his lips. The high note cracks at the end, causing the Bradford boy to blush and quickly lower the microphone. You notice his eyes shift around the stage and at the shocked audience and then shift to his shoes. He and the boys finish the song, earning deafening applause. The five return to the VIP area where you and the fellow 1D girlfriends and a few workers of the event are waiting. "Fuck! I sounded awful!" Zayn storms into the tent and shakes his head in frustration, pressing his forehead against the wall. "Babe, it's okay," you say softly, placing your hand on his shoulder. "Yeah, mate, you did great. You did your best," Liam offers with a reassuring smile. "Don't sweat it, Zaynie," Louis says with a smile, attempting to lighten the mood. Zayn shakes his head and runs his fingers through his hair, turning to face you with a frown. "My voice cracked, didn't you hear it? It sounded so bad, I messed up at one of the biggest events in our career!" he exclaims with frustration, clenching his fists and un-clenching them. "Hush now, don't say that," you sigh, grabbing his hands and giving them a reassuring squeeze. His face softens and he bites his lip, shaking his head. "You'll get it next time, promise."

Niall: As the boys perform More Than This, you can't help but dance along with the audience. Niall's smile was radiant and the boys had a certain kind of energy that just filled the room and made you have to smile. They were performing a live event at the Miss America pageant and this was a rather large venue with a lot of viewers. Niall had been stoked to find out they'd be switching it up and performing a song where he actually had a solo. You knew he felt left out sometimes, despite his constant care-free demeanor and brushing off of his lack of solos. As his solo part in the song came up, you were shaking with anticipation. You were so proud of him and he looked absolutely perfect in his navy vest and bow tie. "If I'm louder, would you see me?" he sings, earning an extra loud round of applause. "Would you stay down in my arms and rescue me, cause we are not changed, you saved me, but when you leave I'm gone again." Your eyes widen when you hear the lyrics he'd sung. As much as you hated to say it, he'd totally butchered them. His smile doesn't quite reach his eyes for the rest of the performance and you surely know why--he'd messed up his solo and he knew it. You automatically felt sympathetic for the boy, his one chance to shine and he'd messed up the words. "I only had ONE part to sing! Just one part! No wonder they hardly give me solos!" the blonde exclaims, running over to you as soon as he's offstage and burying his face in your shoulder--a signature Horan Hug. "Don't you dare say that!" you admonish, inhaling his warm scent. "But, (Y/N), I fucked up all the words!" he says quickly, looking up at you with his icy blue eyes. "So what? I guarantee hardly anyone noticed. A lot of people may not know the words to the song...plus they were all just happy to hear you sing," you reassure him, giving his hand a squeeze. He looks at you skeptically, but then decides you're probably right. "I love you, you know that, right?" he says with a small smile, giving you a quick peck on the lips. "I love you, too, babe. Love you, too," you reply with a smile, proud of your boyfriend's performance nonetheless.
