Annabeth's POV

I look up, hoping to see Percy in those eyes.

I find nothing but blue eyes that are frozen solid. No emotions.

I look away and mutter an apology.

I walk back to the beach. I had started to go there daily to pay respects to Poseidon and Percy.

I cry as I think of Percy. He's probably dead.

Bombarded with monsters and died...

And it's all my fault.

But Glace reminds me of him. He doesn't seem very social though...

No. Not at all. But I need to ask him! If he slips up...he might be Percy!

Stop it. You're just getting your hopes up, I chide myself.

Someone walks over, and I feel a little colder.

"Hey Glace," I mumble.

He chuckles, "how'd you know it was me?"

"I'm colder than before you came," I say as I think about his laugh. So much like...

"Oh." Huh, Seaweed Brain.

I look up at him.

"Glace, don't try hiding things from me. I can always figure it out."

He frowns, "I don't know what you're talking about. Hiding what?"

I roll my eyes, "Even Grover is better than you at lying!" Hopefully, I'll catch him off guard.

"No I'm...who's Grover?" he recovers sloppily from his mistake.

I narrow my eyes. He looks away as he notices that I'm not gonna let this go.

"So, I need to, you know, get back to the Hermes Cabin."

I just nod in acknowledgement, but I'm analyzing his every move.

He leaves. I watch his retreating back until it disappears into the darkness.

I bring out the seashell that Poseidon had given me so long ago.

'When you have a lead, throw this into water, and I will know'

I throw the shell into the lake and walk slowly back to the Athena Cabin.
