A lot of people, especially gifted ones, run into imposter syndrome.

Impostor syndrome (also known as impostor phenomenon, impostorism, fraud syndrome or the impostor experience) is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud".

-Wikipedia

"A lack of self-confidence, anxiety, doubts about your thoughts, abilities, achievements and accomplishments, negative self-talk, feelings of inadequacy, dwelling on past mistakes and not feeling good enough — these are all signs and symptoms of imposter syndrome."

Obviously I'm a writer here on Wattpad. Up until 2017 no one had ever read anything I've ever written. I wrote for myself, never dreaming I would find a platform like Wattpad to share my stories, and never ever imagining I would become a "Star" and a "Paid Stories" author, or have nearly a million views on my paid story, or have so many people love my work. I still go along most days just kind of having it in the back of my head as something that is somewhat perplexing...until I happen to check my rankings and they're, um, consistently very good. Like top ten in many categories out of hundreds of thousands of other books. My point is I still find this hard to believe every time I see it, I never think of my books as being that good, and then when I read some of one I'm like yeah okay this is actually pretty good, who wrote this.

So yeah. Imposter syndrome is dumb and happens to so many of us, even when there are rock solid examples of how good you might be at something.
