WWE knows enough how to provide the fans a decent surprise! After having Ronda Rousey challenged the retired Francine Lane a few weeks prior Evolution, a lot of people doubted that the former Divas Champion would answer the challenge since her neck injury no longer allowed her to compete.

But, after several weeks of covering up who Rousey's opponent was, fans were left immensely surprised to hear the theme song of the Lane Twins reverberating throughout the arena at the night of Evolution. The entire arena literally flipped out to see Francine, accompanied by Shailene, stepping out of the curtains and strutting down the ring.

On the last two episodes of Raw, we've been served with Rousey and Shailene intensely clashed with each other because Rousey addressed something offensive about the twins who did nothing to gain popularity in WWE. And then, Rousey took it a little too far for mentioning about her twin sister and John Cena's relationship, which made Shailene quite furious since her twin sister had moved on, and is now dating alumni of Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans.

Francine didn't comment anything at all regarding the whole situation with Rousey, which further convinced the fans that she indirectly refused the challenge.

Well, how wrong could you be?

"The performance we were able to put on together exceeded all expectations, so though I might not like her as a person, I respect Francine Lane as a competitor. I have a new-found respect for her now that I've been in the ring with her," Rousey explained to WWE.com in an interview after the event.

As for Francine, she did not take her defeat as a big deal, unlike Shailene. "I mean, I'm here because Ronda asked me to, so I came. WWE only recruited me for two events, and after that, I'm done. Maybe I'll come to visit in the future, but not as a wrestler, just a sister who supports her twin and brother-in-law."

While Chris Evans couldn't come to his woman's big night due to filming process of his new movie, Evans gave a bit of his time to let us have a brief conversation regarding his thoughts on this whole five-stars match between Francine Lane and Ronda Rousey through a phone call.

"At first, I strongly disagreed with her returning to the ring ever since her last nearly fatal injury. But, you know, I'm not that kind of boyfriend – I want her to do what makes her happy, but that doesn't mean I don't care about her health and safety at all. I remember we discussed everything together. The best, safest way for her to wrestle while also preventing any unwanted injuries in the process, her doctor was there as well."

Though at the end of the night Rousey defeated Francine to retain the WWE Raw Women's Championship, the arena still cheered for Francine as loud as they did to Rousey

Though at the end of the night Rousey defeated Francine to retain the WWE Raw Women's Championship, the arena still cheered for Francine as loud as they did to Rousey. Because even though Francine had been resting long enough from WWE, she was still able to provide remarkable resistance against Rousey.

note!
tbh i still don't like ronda in wwe
it just feels weird because i used
to see her in the ufc. and honestly
there are plenty of women in the
raw division who deserve a
massive push instead of her
