Ch. 4 "the Past"

Taylor POV

I'm laying on a bed in the lab Tony and Bruce led me to in some actual clothes they gave me.

having some wires hooked to my chest and head.

"You're vitals are extremely low." Bruce said

I nodded

"care to explain" Tony said

I just shrug because I don't really understand myself

then the doors to the lab burst open

"Is it true?" the man known as Steve said

then he looks at me

"Oh my god it's true." he said then a bunch of others run in

"Taylor?" Bucky said shocked

I nodded

"wait you two know each other?" Tony said

Bucky nodded

I feel so tired right now I thought

"I helped her escape HYDRA." he said

I nodded

"Okay everyone out i wanna run some more test." Bruce said

"yeah come on out" Tony said

"you too Tony" Bruce said

"what why?" Tony said shocked

"Because." Bruce said sternly

"Fine." Tony said pouting

"So Taylor how are you feeling right now?" Bruce said flashing a light in my eyes

"Truthfully?" I asked

he nodded

"extremely tired" I said in a raspy voice

he nodded handing me a cup of water

"thank you." I said

he nodded

"I'm just gonna take some X-rays then I'll let you rest okay." He said

I nodded

after getting everything done i was extremely tired I felt my eyelids become so heavy I couldn't keep them open so i drifted off into the darkness.

Bruce POV

I was looking at the X-rays, i couldn't believe what i was seeing every single bone in her body is broken, and she is somehow walking around without being in extreme pain. I looked back at her and see that she's fallen asleep.

I walk out of the lab. I storm into the main room where everyone was everyone looked at me with concern.

"Tony can I speak with you for a moment?" I asked

he nodded getting up and walking up to me the rest followed I didn't mind

"what is it?" Tony asked

"I don't know how to say this, but I don't know how she's alive right now." I said

"what do you mean?" Nat asked

I put all her X-rays on a big screen so everyone can see

"every single bone in her body is broken, but she was able to walk around like nothing was wrong." I said

all their eyes got wide

"and her vitals it's like they are in free fall." I said

"so what do we do?" Bucky said sounding concerned

"let her rest, retake the X-rays I guess" I said

everyone nodded

Bucky POV

I stayed with Taylor after I heard what Bruce said, I don't know what it is but I always felt the need to protect her.

I just couldn't believe it was her, I remember her at HYDRA she barley talked, but she did talk to me since we were always together, but after I witnessed what they were doing to her I knew I had to help her escape at all costs even if it would cost me my life.

I watched as her chest slowly rose and fell the machines beeping i sat in the chair and watched her and waited.

then I heard the door open revealing Steve.

"so you know her?" he asked

I nodded

"she was just a kid when she arrived at HYDRA." I said

he sat down so he could listen, as I spoke I didn't take my eyes off of Taylor.

"She barely spoke, If it was out of fear or something else?" I said

"I was assigned to look after her, after spending so much time together I could feel us getting close even though I had little memory, she finally got comfortable enough to talk to me." I said

Steve nodded

"The more time we spent together, the more our bond grew, I had know idea what it was at first, then I realized it was this strong need to protect her." I said

Steve nodded

"I taught her many things to write, read how to speak different languages." I said

"what I didn't realize, was every time I left to go on a mission they took her and experimented on her, until one day I came back early from a mission to find her not in the cell we shared." I said

"I found out that they were injecting her with a new and enhanced formula called the 0 formula." I said

"not only were they injecting her with the formula but they were wiping her as well so she couldn't tell me what was happening." I said almost in tears

"Bucky?" Steve said with concern in his voice

"that's when I knew right then and there I had to help her escape even if it cost me my life." I said to Steve

"you saved her life" Steve said

I nodded

"I had to I couldn't let them keep doing that to her." I said looking at her

Taylor POV

Nightmare

I run as fast as my legs could carry me tripping over logs and roots looking over my shoulder.

"Experiment 0 come out now! and we won't hurt you" a solider said

I just keep running until I felt a burning pain in my shoulder I see that I got Shot and the solider smirking

then something said in my head

"Kill maim KILL!" it said

next thing I know I fall to my knees my body changing bones breaking

End Nightmare

my eyes snap open my breath ragged I looked around realizing I'm safe I'm in the lab and Bucky was to my right fast asleep in a chair near my bed.

I lay my head back down wondering are these people okay am I really safe?
