Amelia POV
Finally, I'm off of work. It was literally the day from hell. Nonstop work with nothing but kids throughout the mall. I turn my phone on and the notifications of missed calls are overwhelming. I toss it in my bag and make my trek to Luisita's place. The whole day I felt completely sluggish and achy. Figures I would be catching something today of all days. I need all my strength just to go over and pick up the last of my things. I know I'm late and I'm rushing as fast I can. She has Sergei's party and I know I'm going to have to deal with her wrath.
As soon as I ring the bell all I can hear Luisita yell "Hallelujah!" and then followed by a "Fuck! Damn girl. I've been calling you for a fucking hour."
I apologize profusely and the look on her face. She is completely irritated with me. "I know, Sergei's party. I'm sorry." I reply as I look at the floor embarrassed. I can tell she's mad when she tends to banter on and on to a point you can barely keep up with what she's saying. She starts to scold me and all I can do is yell back "Relax!" I let her know about the job and she starts to laugh about it.
Now I'm the one that's irritated. She starts to mention that she didn't know about the job. I can't help but clap back "Well, we don't talk a lot lately." All of a sudden, I have a coughing fit. I notice my things on the table and grab my bag stuff it in my bag. I need to leave. My mission was to get my things and go. Without hesitation she grabs my face and looks into my eyes. She's got me. Just having her touch, me I'm literally falling apart. She tells me that I'm not fine and she can see it in my eyes. There she goes into nurture mood and right into the kitchen. Tea being the fail proof to cure sickness. Ginger tea with lemon to be more exact. Which, I despise and think tastes like floor cleaner.
Luisita pours me a cup and once again our eyes meet. I see that she feels this sympathy for me being sick. Luisita wears her feelings on her face. The look made me look away cause, I wouldn't be able to handle it. She offers me extra tea bags just in case.
Regardless, I still need to get out of there. I dial for a taxi and duh! There's a strike going on. There's no use in even calling an Uber. I might as well just walk home. Luisita hands me the tea and I quickly sip quickly trying to make my escape. I let her know that I'll walk home. She isn't having it and tells me no, that I'm staying over. What Luisita says goes and that's it. There is no point in arguing.
As I'm looking for something to change into I can hear Luisita telling someone over the phone that she isn't going to go to the party after all. She's going to stay home to look after me. Luisita being her usual selfless self. I walk out in the famous blue shirt. We start to laugh about horrible Maru.
"Hey do you think happiness exists?" Luisita says to me as she looks at me with the sweetest smile. "I think moments of happiness exists." I reply.
"Because life isn't the way they told us it would be. And then there's love..."
"No, that's the problem, Luisita. We wanted to live in a romcom and find our soulmate when, in reality, we are already complete, aren't we? With our quirks, but complete. And that's how we should see each other from the beginning, because it would have saved us a lot of pain." "You just gave me an idea for a fabulous shirt." Luisita responds changing the subject. We laugh about it and Luisita decides to head to bed. We both say our goodnights.
