"Yah, hyung, stop staring at yourself in the mirror"
Jeongguk's brother turned around to look at him, shooting him an unimpressed stare "I'm making sure I look good"

Jeongguk scrunched his nose "that's gross"
His brother rolled his eyes and ruffled the nine year old boy's hair, earning a scoff from him "one day you'll date a girl or a boy and you'll understand"

Jeongguk sighed, hating when his brother treated him like a kid, and let the topic drop. He was sure he was never going to be nervous because of a person anyway, so he didn't have a reason to feel worried for the future.

"Is this karma?"
Jeongguk sighed, standing in front of the restaurant. He was feeling nervous, and the idea of staying in his hotel room was slowly killing him, so he decided to head to the place of their date sooner. That led him to be half an hour early, but he recognized the fact that he deserved it.

He was dozing off, staring at the void, when he felt someone tapping on his shoulder. He felt his heart jump in his throat and he turned around, sure he was going to see Taehyung in front of him, but his excited face became one of confusion when he saw two girls instead.

- Hey - one of them said, a bit shyly. Jeongguk furrowed his eyebrows but bowed nonetheless - oh, hello. Do you need anything? -
One of the girls giggled, quickly covering her mouth with her hand, and the other one smiled brightly - we saw you standing here for a while and we were wondering if you'd like to join us for dinner -

Jeongguk's face blanked - what? -
- Did your girlfriend leave you alone? - the first girl asked - or you're single, maybe? -
Jeongguk felt the blood leave his face and he was starting to find a polite way of telling them he was currently really gay for one man only, but he was interrupted by a deep voice behind him.

- Actually - they heard - I'm afraid he's busy -
Jeongguk felt goosebumps all over the back of his neck and he snapped his head to the side just to be snatched away from Taehyung's appearance. Yet again.

The boy was standing beside him with a hand on the younger's shoulder. He was wearing black jeans and a silky, red shirt that was making Jeongguk fell things.
But he didn't have the time to appreciate properly the elder's clothes because his eyes were immediately caught by his hair.

His grey hair.

What. The. Fuck.

His brain malfunctioned for a few seconds, but he came back to reality when Taehyung smiled at him, charming and oh so beautiful that it took his breath out if his lungs. He struggled to smile back, still feeling like he was having an out of body experience.

- Oh - one of the girls said, clearly flustered by Taehyung. Jeongguk couldn't really blame her, he himself was the first one to be shocked by the man's beauty, but he still wasn't able to keep the jealous at bay - you should both join us! We have... -

- Sorry, but - Jeongguk interrupted her, forgetting for a second to he polite - we have a date -
Taehyung seemed surprised but in a matter of seconds he was intertwining their arms with a blinding smile.

The two girls clearly tried to hide their surprise, but didn't entirely succeed. They were quick to apologize, though, and left soon after.

Jeongguk turned to face Taehyung, glad to finally have the time to appreciate him.
The elder immediately hugged him, circling his arms around his shoulders. Jeongguk smiled, hugging his waist, and beamed when he heard him laughing near his ear.

- Jeonggukie! I missed you -
Jeongguk leaned back a bit, enough to kiss him. They both smiled in the kiss and Jeongguk felt his heart swell at the exhilarating feeling.

- I missed you too - he whispered - and you look breathtaking, as always -
Taehyung laughed again - you talk like you haven't seen me in years -
Jeongguk smiled - well, you had the time to dye your hair -

Taehyung blushed, giving him a shy smile. He softly touched his hair, looking away - I dyed it two days ago... I'm still not sure if I like it -

Jeongguk arched an eyebrow - are you kidding? I think I like this color even better than blue -
Taehyung looked at him again with his piercing gaze. He hugged his arm tighter and laid his head on his shoulder - mh, if you say so I will believe it -

Jeongguk scoffed, amused, and started walking in the direction of the restaurant's door. His heart was still beating unbelievably fast but he believed he was doing a good job at hiding it.

- Are you hungry? - Jeongguk asked once they were seated. He saw multiple people staring at them so he was quick at holding Taehyung's hand on the table. The elder smiled - ah, yes. Today I barely ate -

Jeongguk frowned - what? Why? -

- I worked all day and didn't have a lot of free time - Taehyung answered. He then noticed Jeongguk's worried face and was quick to hold his hand tighter - don't look at me like that, I only skipped lunch, it's not a big deal -

Jeongguk jokingly glared at him - you better take care of yourself when I'm not here, or I'll come all the way here from Busan to feed you -

Taehyung tilted his head, flirty - I don't see the threat in this -

- I'll make you eat tons of vegetables -

- Ew, I get it, I wont skip meals -

Jeongguk smiled brightly, nodding. For a second he forgot to check the menu, too focused on Taehyung.

- Are you gonna decide what to eat or you'll keep staring at me? -

Jeongguk quickly hid imself behind the menu, embarassed, as he heard Taehyung laughing in front of him.

They were halfway through their dinner when Taehyung gave him a little kick under the table to get his attention - I hope you didn't plan anything with other people, because I'm planning on occupying all your time while you're here -

Jeongguk remembered his project of having a picnic with Taehyung to ask him to be is boyfriend, so he smiled - is it okay if we have a picnic one of these days? I really want to have one with you -

Taehyung's face brightened and the man nodded entusiastically - sure! I love picnics -

Jeongguk smiled back at him. Now all he had to do was gather the courage to actually ask him to become official.
