What causes autism is one of the biggest questions about autism. Where did it come from, where did it go, where did it come from Cotton Eye Joe? NEWSFLASH: IT DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE! WE'RE JUST MASKING BECAUSE SOCIETY IS NOT A FUN PLACE FOR AUTISTICS! Anyways, here's my theory. Genes. It. Runs. In. The family. It does! I'm from a family of four kids. We've all got it! And I'm pretty sure we all have ADHD, so executive dysfunction is a real bitch! So are school mornings! Now, because there are gonna be Karens who disagree with me. Do you know what causes autism? NO, YOU FUCKING DON'T! And it sure as shit isn't vaccines! Fuck! Oh but diets will cure the autism! LISTEN. LISTEN. OUR BRAINS ARE WIRED DIFFERENTLY. LITERALLY. OUR BRAINS ARE DIFFERENT IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. AND LET ME TELL YOU, MY PARENTS TRIED TO DIET ME BEFORE I GOT DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD AND IT JUST CAUSED MORE TROUBLE FOR THEM, SO SUCK IT! Look, I warned you. And now, onto the anti-vaxxers. SHUT. UP. You're not just stupid, you're endangering people's lives and harming autistic people! It doesn't help! This is what it looks like in a world where we don't have vaccines for something! Fuck! So, what did we learn? 1. I'm angry. 2. Anti-vaxxers are fucking idiots 3. There's no known cause of autism 4. Autism/ADHD/SPD/etc. brains are wired. Differently. 5. Diets won't do shit for neurodivergency.
