4. Julia

When I look at the clock it's ten am, apparently I managed to fall asleep after all. Julia is still sleeping and burning up.

Why would she come to this camp if she's sick?

"Rikki, Julia are you awake yet?",

a sudden knock wakes me from my thoughts.

it's Shannon.

"Uhh yeah I just woke up but Julia is still sleeping",

I answer while I open the door.

Everyone is standing behind Shannon.

"We should've been awake at nine but we just woke up too",

Beth says as she walks in.

"I didn't shut an eye last night, this place is creeping me out",

Shannon sits down on my bed.

"Same, I finally fell asleep at three am",

a yawn releases from my mouth.

"How's Julia doing?",

Cecilia feels Julia's head.

"She slept the whole night but she's still burning up",

I answer.

"Maybe we should get Gabby after all",

Beth suggest.

"We can't.. Julia is terrified of them",

I think it's best to just be honest.

"Them?",

Shannon raises an eyebrow.

"Gabby, George and Phill",

I explain.

"Who are George and Phill?",

Bridget asks.

"I think they are the owners, I read their names in the flyer",

Cecilia replies.

"Oh yeah now I remember, I haven't seen them though",

Shannon answers.

"Yeah me neither, isn't that a bit rude? I mean they could've introduced themselves",

Beth says.

"I've met them.. they gave me the creeps",

a shiver goes down my spine.

"Is that why Julia is scared of them?",

Bridget asks.

"I don't know",

I sigh.

"So what do we do now? Julia is obviously sick there's no way we can hide that",

Bridget thinks out loud.

"I'm not sure.. but something is definitely going on here. We just have to figure out what",

Cecilia covers Julia some more with the blankets.

"Maybe it has something to do with that weird basement..",

Beth says suddenly.

Everyone stares at her in disbelieve, were we all thinking the same?

"What? Don't you think that giant lock is a bit weird. I mean just an "off limits" sign would've been enough, right?",

Beth explains her comment.
