chapter twenty eight (xxviii) : questions to answer

your words instantly brought his whole world crashing down. he looked away and tried to come up with an answer but he just couldnt say it, he didnt know how to tell you. he wanted to just look you in the eyes and say everything will be okay, but he couldnt bring himself to say those words. your confusion only added to his growing worry as he now felt scared that something was wrong. he squeezed your hand tightly as he tried to fight back the urge of shaking, his nerves were starting to get to his head as he tried to think of what he should say. he didnt know how to explain it to you and the fact that he was struggling so much to even come up with an answer terrified him. you were alive and he didnt want to take that away from you, but he didnt know how to tell you about the truth of the situation.

I looked over with pleading eyes 'please tell me why I'm alive..' I told sodo hoping he'd tell me. the pleading look in your eyes made him weak. he had to tell you the truth but he was so scared of your reaction. he looked back over at you and forced a small smile on his face as he sighed. I paused for a minute and took in the information before asking 'W-why are you crying?' while I started wiping the tears away from his eyes while getting tears in my own eyes. your kindness in the moment struck his heart and the tears in your own eyes filled him with a mixture of worries and relief. he was so scared of how you would react to this news and when he saw your tears falling, it started to make his own fall as well. "Im just..im just so scared that you might regret this choice and hate me for making this decision..." he replied in a shaky tone as he looked away for a moment before looking back at you. As I caressed his cheek I told him 'sodo I could never hate you, why would I be mad when I get to spend eternity with you?' I asked him. he was taken aback by your response. the feeling of your fingers caressing his cheek felt like heaven to him and when you said you were happy for what he did just relieved him of all his worries. the idea of you becoming the same thing he was no longer scared him and he wanted nothing more than to make you happy with your choice. 'You could never let me down sodo' I told him looking back up at the ceiling. that reply made his heart swell with happiness. he looked up briefly at the ceiling with a small smile on his face then back down to you.
