Five Months Later (May)

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I've been back in the states. Time flies fast. My business is doing phenomenal and Ronan and I are better than ever. We knew it would be a bit difficult to see each other often because we were both running our own companies. So, we decided to only work two and a half weeks out of the month and the rest of the time would be ours to spend together.

So far we've been going on dates and traveling. That's what we're doing now, Ronan planned the trip this time, and we're going to visit the country where my mom came from, Jamaica. I was excited to go, it's been a while since I've been there. The last time I was there, I was nine years old. My parents had brought me with them to visit my mom's parents. Sadly, my grandparents had passed away shortly after we visited, my grandmother the same year, and my grandfather a year later, and my parents never visited again.

My mom would always say that they were holding on for her, and once they finally saw their daughter again they were at peace and let go.

My dad was from Scotland, but we never visited there. He was orphan, and his parents adopted him as a baby then they moved here. I vaguely remember my grandparents, they had moved back to Scotland when I was really small so I don't remember much and after my parents died they never reached out or even came to the funeral.

"We're good to go," Ronan says popping his head into our room.

"Yea, everything is packed neatly. Passports are secured, we're good to go." I say getting up to kiss his lips.

"Alright then, let's go before we miss our flights."

We took a Uber to JFK airport instead of driving. It wouldn't make sense to drive our own car and have it sit at the airport, that would be a waste of money.

We made our way through the airport, got checked and waited at our gate.

Ronan had gotten us first class tickets, I was quite excited because the last time I traveled first class was back when Ronan and I were engaged. We boarded the plane and took our seats. I was loving the leg room. When Luana and I were coming to New York, we were squished and uncomfortable.

"You know, as fancy as first class flying is, I think I'm gonna invest in a private jet." Ronan speaks up next to me.

"Why?"

"Less people, on demand, mile high club," he lists off and smirks at the last one. I hit his hand playfully.

"You would like that wouldn't you?" I asked.

"You have no Idea," He smirks.

I knew the trip there was about four and a half hours long, I fell asleep about thirty minutes into the flight.

I felt my some light tapping on my shoulders. I groaned and reluctantly woke up.

"Come on baby, we're here." I looked up to see the plane almost empty. I got up, Ronan grabbed our carry on and we were on our way.
