𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝟵

"𝙔𝙚𝙨, 𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙖," 𝘼𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙖 sighed, making her way out the front door. For the third night in a row, Valentina had gotten Adria to collect dinner for the night, and for the first time, Adria was glad about it. 

Stepping outside, she was greeted by Miguel, who had coincidentally exited his place too. His Yaya had felt ill during the car ride to the apartment and Miguel was out to collect some medication. The two agreed they'd walk together down to their local strip mall, with night painting the sky.

The area was deserted, excluding the Pontiac Firebird parked alone in the car park. Miguel and Adria couldn't help but give each other a look as they could see the silhouette of Johnny by the register of the Mini Mart. From the distance, he seemed impatient, and once more glancing at one another, the two inevitably chuckled.

Entering the shop, Miguel called out to the register- man, walking over to one of the aisles. Adria followed in pursuit, and she couldn't help but smirk at the boy, "You speak Spanish huh?"

"Yeah, my Yaya doesn't speak English too well," Miguel chuckled, earning a gentle smile from the girl, as the two walked over to the registry. Johnny glanced at the teenagers beside him, waiting impatiently for the server to hand him his meal. Adria raised her eyebrow in disgust, and Miguel's mouth contorted in distaste simultaneously, as they watched the man hold Johnny's pizza with his bare hand. Turning her head back, and slightly leaning closer to Miguel, she whispered, "He's wearing a band-aid too." Miguel blinked away with a wince and Adria couldn't help but do the same. 

The store fell into silence, with the server clattering beneath the counter causing an uncomfortable racket. Miguel and Adria awkwardly glanced at each other, observing side-eyed, Johnny impatiently tapping the bench. Adria apprehensively cleared her throat, averting her gaze from the front.

"Uh, my grandma's not feeling well," Miguel stiffly mentioned cutting the ice, and nodding his head. Adria turned to look at Johnny, who in return, merely glanced their way.

"Didn't ask. C'mon what's Spanish for 'just give me my damn slice'?" Johnny called out, gesturing out to the man in front. Adria began to respond, just as the cashier lifted his head, turning to the two teens.

"Fucking idiot," He muttered in Spanish, "He probably has a little dick." He chuckled. Adria couldn't help laughing aloud, and Miguel silently bit back his own chuckle, turning to Johnny.

"Probably," Adria added, earning a nudge from Miguel. Johnny looked at them with a raised brow, before leaning forward over the bench.

"What did you just say?" Johnny seethed, and the cashier went silent, glancing at Miguel and Adria. Following his line of sight, Johnny turned to the kids, "What did he say?"

"You don't wanna know," Miguel bit back his laugh again, giving Adria a look.

"I know it's something bad, just tell me–"

"I'll tell you if you teach me karate," Adria suggested, grinning at the blonde.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, tell me," Johnny scoffed, as Adria's smile grew. Miguel reluctantly sighed, glancing back at the girl before responding.

"Uh, he, uh said you have a tiny," Miguel gestured below, and Adria couldn't help but snicker. From the look on Johnny's face, he was fuming, and abruptly turning back at the cashier, he leaned forward, "He said I have a tiny wang? One of you tell him he has a tiny wang." He whispered and the cashier merely scoffed at his ignorance.

"I speak English you asshole," He replied and Adria couldn't help but let out a large laugh. Miguel gave her a small nudge, and she immediately bit back her grin, silently holding it to herself. They watched the blonde snatch his pizza away, drop his cash to the ground, and storm out of the store in an instant. The cashier bent down to pick it up, shaking his head at the two teenagers. "Some people are just fucking stupid," He scoffed, scanning Miguel's medication.
