Kelly
"You gonna sleep all day?" I gazed over at Ace who was laying in bed next to me.
"What time is it?" He groaned rolling over
"12pm." I looked over at the alarm clock and then back at him
He picked up his phone off the charger
"Shit turn on the tv." He abruptly sat up searching for the remote
"What for?" I questioned finding the remote and handing it to him
No words were spoken as he powered it on and flipped through until he got to the news. My jaw dropped when I seen what he wanted me to see.
"Just in we have a picture of a woman named Kelenderia Rowland also known as Kelly she's wanted by the FBI as a person of interest in a string of robberies if you see this woman call the police immediately do not approach her she may be armed and dangerous"
"Are you kidding me?" I jumped out of the bed seeing my picture splashed across the screen.
I looked over at Ace to see him getting dressed.
"What are you doing?"
"Get dressed we gotta leave now!" He yelled packing his bag
Every thing began to move in slow motion. I glanced back at the TV to see the news anchor going on about another story I could see her lips moving but I couldn't hear the words that were coming out. My stomach sank to my ass my dad turned me in was the only thing I kept thinking.
"Kelly! Snap out of it pack your shit!" Ace yelled breaking me out of my thoughts
I quickly moved around the room grabbing everything that belonged to me and through it in a duffel bag including the money I stored in the bathroom wall.
"You got everything?" Ace asked turning to look at me.
I simply nodded. My words were caught in my throat.
He briskly walked to the door.
"Wait!" I shouted before he could swing the door open.
I took out my phone and walked over to the lamp on the bedside table. I took out the SIM card and smashed the phone as much as I could. I then flushed the SIM card down the toilet.
"That's everything let's go." I finally found my words.
I walked out of the room with Ace in front of me. We walked past the elevator and over to the staircase. Ace slowly opened the door making sure there wasn't anyone waiting for us and motioned towards me that the coast was clear. We jetted down the flights of stairs until we got to the bottom. Once we made it to the parking lot we left my car there and hopped in his throwing our bags in the back.
"I can't believe he turned me in." I said after a few moments of silence
"Who your pops?" He glanced at me and then back at the road
I simply nodded.
"We knew this moment would come sooner or later, he still has a job to do." He reasoned
I looked out the window not responding. I knew Ace was right this is the life I chose. His phone kept buzzing. He quickly answered it.
"Yo."
"Yeah we seen it."
"We had to dip I'm taking her to safety." He replied before hanging up
"Who was that?" I looked over at him
"Draco he wanted to make sure we good."
"Where are we going?" I noticed we were entering into Buckhead
"Safety."
I leaned back into my seat and closed my eyes.
A few minutes later we arrived at a wooded area.
"Where are we?" I asked looking around
He gave me a look that said "if you ask me one more time"
He grabbed our bags and I hopped out and followed him along a dirt path until we got to a set of doors that was covered by dirt and leaves. I wanted to ask questions but I decided against. I watched as he brushed away the dirt and leaves and unlocked the door with a pass code.
"The code is 8130." He replied after he hit the numbers and the doors unlocked.
We climbed inside and he shut the doors behind us. We were surrounded by darkness. He flipped a switch and the lights came on.
"This is an underground bunker." I stated taking a look around
"Everything in here is surrounded but metal I'm the only person that knows about this and well now you." He smirked
I followed him to another door. The inside looked like a little apartment equipped with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.
I walked in taking a look around while he put our bags in the bedroom. The whole place was fully furnished with couches, flat screens, beds, tables, chairs and etc.
"The fridge and cabinets are fully stocked if you get hungry." He replied coming out of the bedroom
"Why do you have this place?" I asked the million dollar question
"For emergencies, such as this one."
"Ace" I squinted my eyes at him
He sighed.
"When I took over the organization I knew if it was that easy to hire me to take out the former leader what would stop El Salvador from doing the same to me? I only have P and Jonica so what if something happens and we need to leave immediately? So I had this built in the middle of nowhere." He explained
"I thought you said we are the only people who know about this place? What about the people who built it?" I took a seat next to him on the couch
"When everything was completed I killed them, I couldn't take any chances." He replied as if it was nothing
