My reality (Monika x reader)

the ritual

I was waiting anxiously for Ji to arrive, walking from side to side of my living room all I could think of was if this ritual was actually gonna succeed.

'KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK'

Welp, that means that Ji and her friend, Marie, are here. I opened the door.

"GIVE ME MY ICE CREAAAAM"

Man, can't she just do this for me and not for the ice cream?

After I gave Ji her ice cream, and Marie some cheesecake (because she said she was promised a cheesecake, which was probably how Ji persuaded her to come) we went to my backyard where I had everything ready.

We each went to our place, Ji was eating her ice cream and Marie was eating her cheesecake. Then I claped really loud so they would snap out of their daydream and actually PAY ATTENTION, they both looked at me and put their foods down.

"Are we ready?" I asked

"Sure, sure but....where's Monika?"

". . ."

I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT MONIKA, OMG, I'M FREAKING OUT.

"(Y/NNNNN)" I could hear Monika calling out to me, I left her in the kitchen.....I'M SUCH A BAD PERSON.

I grabben Monika, and ran back to my backyard.

"NOW, are we ready?"

Both girls nodded in unison

'Are these two connected or something?' I thought to myself

I put my laptop on the middle of the three of us and went back to my spot.

"Here we go Monika" I looked at her.

"I believe in you!" She smiled.

We started chanting, Ji and Marie seemed pretty scared, and I can't say that I wasn't, but if it was for Monika, then I was willing to do it.

After five minutes of chanting we finished, we waited for a few seconds.......

Nothing's happening....

Monika waited with me

I was worried, we did everything correctly, nothing was out of place

"It was probably not real...." Monika said with a sad smile on her face

"We're sorry (Y/N)......" said Ji

"Yeah...it would have been cool for a character from a game come to life...." Marie said after Ji spoke

"I-it's ok....." was all I said

"We'll just leave" Ji said and proceeded to leave, Marie followed her and soon, I was left with just Monika

It was starting to get dark, so I took my laptop and went back inside to my room.

I changed into my pajamas and stretched a bit.

"Good night Monika....sorry things didn't go as planned"

"It's ok (Y/N).....I'm still here"

I gave her a nod and went to sleep.
