Well, I just found out that Salamence has a Mega evolution now! I know one person who is diappointed by the appearance of Salamence since he's a big fan (not Paul), but it made me wonder, "What in the world must Paul be thinking about this Mega Salamence announcement if Professor Sycamore himself discovered that he had a Mega evolution?"

I know this isn't exactly an update, but I think it's something I just NEED to post, right? Exactly. So here are Paul's thoughts on Mega Salamence.

Paul

The only known information about this Mega evolution is the appearance of a Mega Salamence and its ability- Aerilate, which causes Normal type moves to become Flying type moves as well as increasing their damage by 30%. The only known Pokemon with this ability at this moment is Mega Pinsir, which is useful for moves like Return and Double-Edge if you are willing to suffer recoil damage. Quick Attack is also a possibility. I've never owned a Pinser and this strategy has never been used by me considering Mega evolution is farily new and Mega stones aren't owned by just any stupid Trainer who happens to begin their journey. If any of you ever see Ash Ketchum skipping around with a Mega stone, please inform me so I can go wonder why such an idiot could ever be trusted to unleash that much power when he gets distracted by simple things such as shiny objects. Maybe that's how he would come across a Mega stone in the first place. Either way, he's not deserving.

For my own thoughts about Mega Salamence, I would like to say I don't judge Pokemon based on appearance, but that would make me a lying hypocrite. Based on the appearance of a Mega Salamence, I would think they would be able to fly faster considering they are built more like man made jets than bulky, tough dragons. Considering Mega Salamence does seem very jet-like, I would say the most likely typing would be Dragon/Steel. His skin is now rather steel-like. If so, Fire attacks still wouldn't be much of a threat and Fairy Pokemon would be quite as pestering on the battle field. Still, Ground type attacks would have to be watched for, though that still doesn't seem to be logical considering Mega Salamence can still fly. When it comes to the rules of the Pokemon that are set by the Professors, they don't usually make sense. Idiots. I'm unsure of the typing still and don't appreciate being forced to guess and assume, though apparently I have fans who would like to know my opinions. That would be a first... unless you include Barry. I always hated Barry and prefer no one to ever talk about him.

Stats wise, I would assume Mega Salamence would have a higher speed and higher attack stats. Considering it looks more agile than bulky, the likihood of additional defensive points is at a minimum, which is depressing considering Salamence are capable of stat boosts because of their immense bulk. New moves are unknown as of yet and it's impossible to be sure of any of these, but they are my guesses. My instincts aren't often wrong.

What I do know is that Mega Salamence couldn't win against my Salamence. Truthfully the Mega's body type seems like a hiderance. It seems to lose its forearms, which could have been used before to land and deal damage. The Mega's neck is rigid and unable to move, taking away the usefulness of being able to bite down on an opponent, subduing them effortlessly. Its tail can no longer be used as a perfect steering mechanism. Faster, quite possibly, but once it looses its momentum, the battle would be ours. With a few Dragon Dance speed boosts, I don't see how that Mega Salamence could stand a chance.

I'm only intrigued by the news. Perhaps one day Salamence will be able to Mega evolve, but really, we don't need the strength of a shiny rock to win a battle. We're strong enough with pure force and well thought strategy. As if I would allow Salamence to get even cockier and evolve further. He will just have to keep training like this news never happened.

Which means I better go stop Dawn from telling him the phenominal new Pokemon discovery. If only she would focus on the wretched Pikachu cosplay news. That is also something you should never talk to me about. Of all the stupid Pokemon discoveries, that is one of my least favorite.

There you go :P So... not exactly an update, but it's something to read. And Paul would be fuming about Pikachu right now. Isn't he so lovable?
