I'm not sure who exactly Sinful is, but his name sure did send a chill down my spine.

Time seems awfully vague in telling me who Sinful is, and what he does. All I know is he is a powerful Immortal, whose territory I passed through on the way to get here. His name is familiar, yet I can't piece together who he truly is. Time doesn't inform me, claiming it's best I don't know anything about him. It gives him power...I don't see why.

"Does he want to kill me?" I ask softly, as I place my omelette onto my plate. Having an Immortal as a mate is one thing, but having another who wants me dead is impossible to deal with. Even if I have Time protecting me. I still don't trust him.

Time pulls out a chair for me to sit on. I eye him as I slide into the seat, murmuring a thank you under my breath. He seems to be consider my question.

It doesn't make me feel any better.

"I doubt he would kill you at this point. A mate bond is a big thing, even to Immortals, so I'm sure he would use you to his advantage first," Time tells me, pulling out a chair to sit at the table close to me. I feel the urge to move back, yet I stop myself. I can't keep being afraid of him. He isn't going to hurt me, so I shouldn't be so on edge.

"Great," I mutter under my breath. What could be worse? Would I rather him kill me, or use me? I hate that suddenly I've been into thrown into this world of powerful people who I know nothing about, who apparently know everything about me.

When I glance back up at Time while I eat my breakfast, I notice him watching me, chewing the edge of his lip.

I wonder if he's had that habit for all his life.

For the rest of the day, I avoided Time. Oddly enough, it wasn't too difficult, since he spends most of his time in that locked room, that beautiful music drifting out from under the door. I spent the day in my room, distracting myself with a book I found on a bookshelf downstairs. It's ancient within my fingertips, but I'm curious about what is inside.

By the time dusk fell, shadows creeping into my room, I have finished the book, starting to feel exhausted, despite what little I've done today. Again, Time didn't interrupt me. I'm curious about what's behind that door...

Regardless, I curl up in bed, falling asleep quickly. Trying not to think about how tumultuous my life has been is a struggle, yet I'm managing it.

Barely, though.

I wrestle with sleep all through the night, until at some point, my eyes blink open, unable to get anymore. I'm surprised I can't sleep through the night, considering what has been going on recently, however, it's as if the moment I slip into slumber, something within my mind forces me back awake. It's almost as if I feel watched.

Maybe I just don't feel comfortable here. It's a new place I've never been in before, with an Immortal I don't trust linger around. Sitting up in my bed, I bury my head in my hands. I want out of here. I want all of this to be over.

"You've looked better," I hear someone say from the other side of the room. I freeze, my heart almost coming to a complete as I realise a stranger has snuck into my room while I was sleeping.

"Who's there?"

Around me, are only darkness and shadows. Their voice sounded like it came right from the corner, where the moonlight through the window doesn't reach. Plus, they clearly stand right by the light switch, leaving me with no choice but to stay still in bed. It could be another Immortal, meaning if I try to fight my way out, I'll have no chance.
