❝ and this is hailey, only we call her bee. i'm not exactly sure why. she's the only person i know who's dyed their hair, and she lives with her mom and brother on the edge of the cut. they run a pretty nice motel, and she could probably pass as a kook if she wanted to. jj and i met her in the sixth grade and we've been friends ever since. she's tiny, and don't tell her this, but she's almost beaten me in an arm wrestle. twice. her dad taught her a lot about mechanics before he passed, so she's been patching the van back together for years. she wants to get out of this town one day, become a writer or artist or something. sounds pretty cool to me. ❞
