Arthur's POV

All the competitors were in the throne room with some of the court. My father was congratulating the knight in yellow, Sir Valiant, on his victory and all I could do was look on with a poker face.

"My lady" Valiant took Morgana's hand and kissed it,

"I saw you competing." She said,

"I saw you watching." He smirked and went on, "I understand the tournament champion has the honor of escorting My Lady to the feast."

"That's correct."

"Then I will everything to win the tournament." He nodded as she smiled and walked off. I didn't like the guy one bit, he gave me a weird feeling. I also didn't like the way he stared at Arabella as he was fighting, he shouldn't be staring at her. Oh God, what am I thinking? Why do I care if he stares at her?

'Because you fancy her, you blithering idiot.' A voice inside my head mocked,

'Shut up' I thought back.

I walked up to my father,

"Arthur"

"Father" I bowed my head and went over to Morgana,

"They all seem rather impressed by Knight Valiant." I looked over to her with my eyebrow raised,

"They're not the only ones." She smiled smugly,

"You're not jealous, are you?"

"I don't see there's anything to be jealous of." That wiped the smile off her face. Knowing I had put an end to our back and forth, I walked away.

Arabella's POV

I had noticed Valiant starring at me on several occasions. The way he behaved seemed so perfect that it must have been an act. I was sitting on my bed in Merlin and I's chambers, when he came running into the room looking pale,

"Merlin, what's wrong?" I rushed to his side,

"Valiant... shield... magic!" He sputtered out. It took him a while to catch his breath and when he did he sat on my bed,

"Ok, you said Valiant's using magic, care to elaborate?" I asked,

"I went to the armory to get Arthur's stuff for tomorrow when I heard a hissing noise." He started, "I was looking for the source of the sound and when I got close to his shield I saw one of the snakes blink. He walked into the armory and tried getting me out as fast as he could."

"So the snakes on his shield do what exactly?" I tried to make sense of the situation,

"I don't know. But if I'm sure of one thing, it's that the magic Sir Valiant is using isn't any good."

--- The next day ---

Arthur's POV

Valiant had won his fight against Sir Ewan, which wasn't expected because it looked like Ewan had the upper hand. The one thing I found most peculiar was the fact that he had passed out when Valiant was only holding a shield against his chest.

I went off to look for Arabella, who said she would help me train, only to see Valiant pinning her against the wall.

Arabella's POV

I was walking to the training field, hoping that Arthur would already be there so we can start, when an arm grabbed my wrist and pulled me up against the wall. I looked up to see Sir Valiant looking up at me,
