𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙾𝚃 landed on the far end of the skywalk. The flying horses tucked in their wings and cantered nervously across the glass.

While her best friend- Annabeth Chase- leaped off the chariot before it had even finished moving, Lorna Jackson hesitated before even descending.

Lorna had seen pictures of the Grand Canyon and it looked, well- grand.

But seeing it in person scared her. She was a daughter of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Seas. And Zeus, the Greek God of the Sky (and God of being a jerk) had something against children of Poseidon. Lorna always was sure that Zeus was jealous of them. Afterall, Poseidon's family relations were much better than Zeus. And hence, ever since Lorna was a child, she had been scared of heights.

Her heart palpitated as she set her foot on the glass skywalk.

Why are humans so annoyingly brave? She grumbled in her mind.

Lorna raised her head to see Annabeth aiming her knife at a group of three teenagers.

Lorna looked at Butch, a son of Iris, who jumped off the chariot. "You wanna deal her?"

Butch gagged dramatically. "I'm not going to willingly hold back a PMS-ing Annabeth."

"She's not PMS-ing, Butch," Lorna rolled her eyes. "Her boyfriend is gone."

"And so is your twin brother but I don't see you complaining." Butch said as he reined in the horses.

Lorna sighed and ran to deal with the fuming Annabeth.

The two boys and one girl who Annabeth seemed to be threatening looked traumatized.

"Woah!" Lorna said. "What the hell did you do to them, Beth? They look like they've just walked through Tartarus."

"F-flying tornado thingys," A small hispanic guy stuttered. "They flew, and they disappeared, Jason- sword, Coach-"

"Calm down, Shakespeare," Lorna chuckled. "How 'bout you start from the top?"

"How 'bout you tell the scary blonde to drop her weapon?" A blond, somewhat muscular guy suggested. He had sky blue eyes and an aura of power surrounded him. But he looked really confused.

"Not until you tell me where Percy is." Annabeth glared at them.

"Where's who?" The girl looked like a native american descent, with tanned skin, chocolate-brown hair that is cut choppy and uneven. There were thin strands braided down on the sides, and eyes that seemed to change color like a kaleidoscope, going from brown to blue to green.

Annabeth frowned like the answer was unacceptable. "What about Gleeson? Where is your protector, Gleeson Hedge?"

The short boy cleared his throat. "The tornado things took him."

"Venti," The blonde said.

"And I'd like a Grande cup of therapy, with 5 pumps of love and affection topped with a sprinkle of a father figure, please." Lorna said.

"Same, but please add anti-depressants in mine!" Butch said from beside her.

Annabeth turned to glare at the two campers instead. "He means anemoi thuellai. Storm spirits."

"Are we still taking orders?" The blonde asked. "Because I would like 9 gallons of what the hell just happened?"

Lorna stifled a laugh. "How about we start with introductions? Hello, I'm Lorna Jackson. I like to cry about my childhood, drown people, and burn things. And before you ask: no, I was not at 71 Farrer Street on 7 December at 9:53. Now your turn!"

They introduced themselves as Jason, Leo and Piper. Jason did his best to explain while Annabeth and Lorna stood in front of them with their arms crossed. Lorna did it mostly because the looks on their faces were hilarious.

When Jason had finished his story, Annabeth didn't look satisfied. Apparently, their classmate Dylan was a storm spirit. He had attacked them on their field trip. Piper fell over the edge of the skywalk and Jason saved her. Gleeson Hedge had been captured in the midst of saving Leo.

"No, no, no! She told me he would be here. She told me if I came here, I'd find the answer." Annabeth said.

"Beth, calm down. They look scared out of their minds." Lorna said, bending down to pick up a rock on the floor. She reminded herself to add this to the box.

"Yeah," Butch grunted. "Check it out."

He pointed at the blonde's feet. He was missing his left shoe.

"The guy with one shoe," said Butch. "He's the answer."

"No, Butch," Annabeth insisted. "He can't be. I was tricked."

She glared at the sky as though it had done something wrong. "What do you want from me?" she screamed. "What have you done with him?"

The skywalk shuddered, and the horses whinnied urgently.

"Woah. Calm down. Look Percy isn't here, we gotta go." Lorna said.

"Let's get these three to camp and figure it out there. Those storm spirits might come back." Butch added.

Annabeth fumed for a moment.

"Fine." She fixed Jason with a resentful look. "We'll settle this later."

She turned on her heel and marched toward the chariot.

"Don't worry guys, Annabeth is really nice once you get to know her. I've known her for 5 years and she only threatened to murder me twice yesterday!" Lorna said enthusiastically.

Lorna hooked her arm through Piper's and Leo's and dragged them towards the chariot.

"She what?" Piper exclaimed.

"Oh, it's no big deal," Butch said as he put his arm around Jason's shoulder, tugging him forward. The blond tripped over his own feet. "Nowadays, Annabeth looks like she wants to kill everyone. You gotta cut her some slack. She had a vision telling her to come here, to find a guy with one shoe. That was supposed to be the answer to her problem." Butch said.

"What problem?" Piper asked.

"She's been looking for one of our campers, who's been missing three days," Butch said. "She's going out of her mind with worry. She hoped he'd be here."

"Who?" Jason asked.

"My brother. Her boyfriend," Lorna said. "A guy named Percy Jackson."
