Catherine, (who quit her job as a tin stamper), walked down the dreary columns of London town. She passed the bloody walls of Whitechapel...Some old stains remained on the wall...And evidence of frequent romantic trysts were also commented on by couples who looked away in disgust, as they headed to more 'safer' areas around London Town.
...But, for her, she needed money to survive...
..."Can I offer £2?", a soldier asked.
"Aye, good ter see a man in uniform on these cobbled roads". Catherine said.
"Name is Former cadet Thomas Conway. From Birmingham", he said.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Catherine", she said...And laughed.
