The next day in office, I was busy doing my work and Ajay came asking me for a doubt.

"Why are you even doing this work anyways, you get paid as an agent? ", I asked

" Of course, mission wise payment.. Going to get lots for this Rajesh Rao mission", he said

"Be careful ", I said

" So you have been to other missions? How are they like? ", I asked

" Yup, I had to track down terrorists, find out shady connections in the underworld,.. Don stuff,.. You know the dark web, it's illegal,.. Lot of crimes happening there.. And the police can do nothing about it, we help in such stuff ", he said

" I've seen a lot Sree,.. But I've never had a normal life,.. I've never wanted one,.. But now.. Idk I feel like I want to live normally.. "he said

" Do you miss her, ", I asked

He looked at me.

" Yes.. I never missed people a lot, I got used to it, my life was unpredictable, thrilling, I never knew what was going to happen to me next and I liked it that way,..
But now.. I want to live.. There seems to be a reason for me to survive,.. You know what we were trained to not get emotional, because it can cost us our live but I'm feeling new things now and for the first time after so long I'm really scared.. ", he said.

My eyes opened wide..

" Do you like her? ", I asked

He looked at me for a moment, wondering what to say..

" Ajay? " I asked

"Yes...please don't tell her", he said

" I'm not, you are going to", I said

He shook his head

"I can't Sree,.. I can't do that to her.. My life is so different from hers,.. If I do that I'll cause her pain.. If she ever accepts,
If she doesn't I'll lose my friend..
I want her to be happy, and this is the best way", he said

" Shouldn't she decide it, you are making choices on your own", I said

"I know.. But I need to think.. I can't do that to her.. Make her take a difficult decision,.. It won't work out Sree  ", he said

" I understand, about your job and all.. I am concerned for my friend, I can't see her worried each time you go on a dangerous mission, but she should decide that.. Not me or you..
Because if you like someone, you don't care about anything else  ", I said

He nodded. " Please don't tell her, I'll think about it", he said

"Ok", I said

I entered Vikram's cabin in some time to report the work.

He looked up at me, " Yes, how's it going? ", he asked

" Good.. I'll show you the estimates I had done", I said and took a seat next to Vikram and showed him the file..

I felt his eyes on me as I showed the files

"Uh.. It's on the laptop sir", I said

" Ya.. "He said and looked at the laptop.

" Seems fine, send me the draft", he said

"Ok", I said and got up and turned

Vikram held my hand..

I turned around.. " Yes sir? ", I asked

He just pulled me closer, that I almost fell on him on the chair.
