Chapter 131

Deputy Director Lin’s eyes almost burst into flames when he saw Lu Lixing coming out from the bathroom.

“Ji Qingqing, who is he?!”

Deputy Director Lin did not recognize Lu Lixing.

It was not surprising that he didn’t recognize Lu Lixing. Not only was Lu Lixing a brilliant entrepreneur, but he was also a workaholic. He had always kept a low profile and rarely showed up for social events. Since the two of them were never formally introduced to each other, it was normal for them not to recognize each other.

Deputy Director Lin didn’t plan on coming here tonight. He was only informed a few hours ago when one of the staff told him that Ji Qingqing’s agent was looking for him.

He remembered that Ji Qingqing’s agent was Meng Xun, but the person who came looking for him was Qin Yue. While he was wondering why Ji Qingqing had changed her agent, Qin Yue approached him to discuss Ji Qingqing rejoining the filming crew tomorrow. That was when he discovered that Ji Qingqing had returned to filming the TV series.

Before the accident occurred, Lin Yue had waited over two months for Ji Qingqing to fulfill their deal, but the original Ji Qingqing kept delaying her side of the payment. He regretted letting Ji Qingqing into the TV series through the backdoor because he thought his efforts were in vain since Ji Qingqing looked as if she were about to back out her end of the deal. He planned on teaching her a lesson since she was reneging on her end of the deal.

However, he didn’t expect an accident to happen the very next day.

What surprised him even further was that Ji Qingqing was able to clear up her name after being slandered and cursed at by fans on social media for months.

After he found out that she had recovered from the scandal of the accident, he waited for Ji Qingqing to rejoin the filming crew. As soon as he heard that news that she was going to rejoin the crew, he didn’t go to sleep, instead, he hurried over to her room in the middle of the night.

He wanted to see how much longer Ji Qingqing would try to skimp out on him.

But he never expected there to be a man in her room.

“He…” Ji Qingqing hesitantly said, “He’s my boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend?” Deputy Director Lin glanced at Lu Lixing and realization suddenly dawned on him. He was furious as he accused her, “Ji Qingqing, it seemed like you really are planning to burn down the bridge after you crossed the river, hm? Did you bring your boyfriend to the filming crew so he can escort and protect you?”

“Deputy Director Lin, it’s already very late. If you have anything you want to discuss, please discuss it with me in the studio tomorrow.” Ji Qingqing made a signal for him to leave as she pushed him out.

Just by listening to the accusations that Deputy Director Lin was throwing at her, Ji Qingqing could already guess that the original Ji Qingqing and Deputy Director Lin must’ve made a hidden deal between them. Otherwise, why would he barge into her room in the middle of the night? If Lu Lixing was not here, she would’ve denied everything he tried to accuse her of and kick him out of her room. But since Lu Lixing was present too, she was afraid that Deputy Director Lin would spill everything in front of him.

Ji Qingqing sighed at the big mess that was left behind by the original Ji Qingqing!

Deputy Director Lin had been cast aside by Ji Qingqing many times before, so this time, he refused to back off. “Ji Qingqing stop pretending in front of me! You tried to brush me aside time and time again. Do you think I don’t know what you’re thinking about? You believe that you have secured the second female lead’s role in the TV series since you’ve been filming in the crew for a while, so you believe that the crew will not replace you. That’s why you’re not afraid of brushing me aside, right?”
