Birthday party

You didn't showed up at my party,
I smiled at them, I wasn't really happy,
Blue dress and blue jeans sweater,
Sky blue perfume that stays forever.

With all the hopes, I waited for you to come in,
I stayed in front of our home's door, just beside the bin,
Black wedges that made my feet painful,
They gave me gifts, I'm so grateful.

I wiped my tears, and entered my room,
Dusk of the shuttered room, so doom,
Mascara running down into my cheeks,
I walked out, they heard the creaks.

Mom, approached me and she asked, where is he?
I smiled a little, he'll not be here, he's busy,
I went out and stared at the entrance,
I told them, that I'll no longer dance.

The party's over, I washed the dishes,
Your promise that you'll be here, in my mind it crashes,
I keep myself busy that night,
I avoided your excuses, I don't wanna fight.

I never asked for anything, but only your presence,
The amount of pain and disappointment is immense,
It's supposed to be perfect and fun,
You never showed up, seventeen's gone.
