I held on to the “I thought you were”
Critical questions, with a single answer,
“It's just your mind alone” you swore,
“You're making a big deal out of it” broke me to the core.

Leaving me hanging for almost a week,
The breakdowns and relapses which made me weak,
The begging moments just for you to speak,
Shattered my heart until they heard a creak.

I pushed people away, waiting for you to be decent,
I prayed to God, and wished to the crescent,
I endured every blistering series of speeches,
I watched the burning chimney before they took the matches.

Looking back to those nights that I cried,
The viscous words that once made me terrified,
The sea of your so called love that took my breath away,
When you said, “my love is fading” glad, I didn't chose to stay.
