He hadn't meant to do it. Hadn't meant to send out a blast that broke the sound barrier, exploding all windows around them. It had been an accident, really, when Izuku used his air punch to blow away the ice Todoroki sent out to get him. Well, no, the move itself hadn't been an accident, he'd been training that one for a while now. But Izuku didn't expect it to have such force. He didn't control his quirk output enough and used too much power.

The air blast did successfully blast Todoroki out of bounds, but it also made Jirou drop to the ground with her ears covered. The class had been separated for today's training, a fault in the room scheduling, so luckily Shoji wasn't here, too. That didn't mean Jirou had taken any less damage though. And Aizawa sensei was with the other part of their class right now.

FUCK! Hurts! Hurts! Hurts! My ears are bleeding! Are they bleeding?! I can't hear anything. I can't hear anything! They're bleeding, they're definitely bleeding! Damnit! There's so much noise! Too much noise!

Izuku's ears were ringing, so he could imagine it was way worse for her. His fingers were broken, but his pain tolerance was way too high for it to bother him at the moment. He could see Yaoyorozu moving towards her, wanting to make sure she was okay, only for Jirou to freak out even more when the vice rep touched her.

Too much! Too much! It's all too much!

Sensory overload. Izuku quickly ran towards her, pushing Yaoyorozu away and keeping his classmates at bay. Jirou needed space right now. Being crowded would only do more harm than good at this point.
[Give her space and be quiet, she's very sensitive right now] he signed towards Koda, the only one in this part of their class that could understand them. He whispered it to their other classmates and for a moment Izuku was thankful Iida was in the other group.

He carefully sat down in front of Jirou, thinking about what to do. He wouldn't touch her, that was out of the question, and even if he could speak, he wouldn't. No, he needed to help her calm down in some other way... Let's see. She was overwhelmed right now. There was too much noise. Kinda like- Izuku's eyes widened. Kinda like when he was sitting inside their classroom and everyone's thoughts filtered into his mind all at once.

Even now he could hear everyone's concerned and worried thoughts soaring through his mind, setting him even more on edge than he already was. Izuku needed to focus on one person to make it more bearable, to make sure he stayed sane. So maybe that's exactly how he could help Jirou? By making her focus on one sound? It was worth a shot, right? He still wasn't sure how to make her do that, but he knew something she could be focussing on.

With that, Izuku started breathing louder, taking a deep breath in and a long breath out. He repeated that pattern for a while, hoping to break through to her, to make her adjust to a steady pace and allow her to calm down. Please hear me, he thought. Listen to my breathing. Focus on the rhythm. He didn't know how long it took, but he could tell she slowly came back down to earth. Her mind was blank, simply focussed on his sound.

Jirou blinked, carefully removing her hands from her ears and wiping away some of the tears that had escaped her eyes. The ringing in her ears had calmed down and everything was silent once again.
[Sorry] Izuku signed as she glanced up at him, knowing they covered that word in Aizawa's improvised sign language class.

He wanted to say more, to ask her if she was feeling alright, to tell her he didn't mean to hurt her, but her knowledge of sign was limited and he still couldn't speak. Yet it seemed like she got the message, giving him a small smile and a nod.
"T-thanks" Jirou whispered.
"Are you feeling okay?" Yaoyorozu asked, keeping her voice down as she approached her two classmates.

"Better" Jirou sighed. It still feels like my ears are bleeding... Are they bleeding?
"I'll walk you to Recovery Girl, to be sure" Yaomomo stated, helping her up from the ground. It was also that moment Aizawa sensei returned to their group, frowning as he took in the scene.
"I'm gone for 10 minutes" he groaned.
"Why is Jirou hurt when she wasn't sparring and what happened to Todoroki's uniform?"
