C. Shrimant Subhedar Male Rao Holkar :

Subhedar Male Rao Holkar was the only son of Rani Ahilya Devi Holkar. He is one of the two kings of Holkar dynasty, who ruled for a short period. He ruled from 20 May 1766 to 13 March 1767. Many stories have been told about his death, but no one has yet been able to determine the cause of his death. He died at Indore. This monument is his main Samadhi.

This Samadhi is also on a grand chotharya and its architectural style is Rajput style and shaped like a dome. Numerous idols of gods and goddesses are carved as this Samadhi. This Samadhi does not have a sabhamandapa but only a sanctum sanctorum with a double patterned dome on it. Numerous Holkar-era carvings are carved on it. The tomb of Samadhi is octagonal inside.

Inside Samadhi, there is an idol of Subhedar Male Rao Holkar in the middle, to his right and left are the idols of his wives Prita Bai and Maina Bai. In the right corner of the sanctum sanctorum, there is another statue of an elephant. On the elephant, there is an idol of Male Rao and his wives on either side. This Samadhi was built in the year 1784 under the guidance of Rani Ahilya Devi Holkar. This Samadhi is built on red stone.

Subhedar Male Rao Holkar was fond of elephants, so the above idol has been made. He had built an embarkment for elephant bathing in the river Khan (Kanha) which was known as "Hathipala" and his first wife Prita Bai was the daughter of Sardar Santaji Wagh. After Santaji Wagh, the chief of Holkar, died in the Battle of Panipat, his daughter became the daughter-in-law of Rani Ahilya Devi Holkar and gave some jahagiri to her family. The fort of Kothapur in Maharashtra was given. Maina Bai belongs to the Bahadur family.
