Not as bad

Chapter 9

Sonic slowly let go of shadow his eyes red from all the crying, shadow put on his shoes and picked sonic up holding him closer in his arms as they step outside the sky still a beautiful shade of blue and the green grass was partially covered in melting snow "it snowed?" Shadow asked a little surprised to see snow "oh yeah, i remember tails saying something about how it would snow" sonic said 

"Really why didnt you tell me we could have have watched the snow fall" shadow said smiling a bit "sorry even i forgot, they left so quickly" sonic said "why did they leave so quickly" shadow said as he tried to walk carefully through the forest "um, i-i dont know" sonic said suddenly blushing remembering what tails had said "mhm sure you dont" shadow said not believing him "i-i really dont know" sonic said "ok ok fine I believe you" shadow said rolling his eyes playfully "hey! I dont like your sarcasm" sonic said crossing his arms shadow just laughed a bit and sonic couldn't help but laugh a little too

*BOOM*

"What was that!" Sonic said said startled by the loud disturbance "eggman" shadow said his face now becoming cold it sent shivers down sonics spine its been a long time since he's seen shadow look so serious

Then shadow started running back where they came "wait we're are we going eggmans that way!" sonic said confused "no. Im taking you home im letting you get involved" shadow said running faster as the explosions got louder but just as they were almost to the house a something shot at them and exploded, so  shadow used his body to protect sonic the explosion sent shadow back a few feet making him hit a tree shadow grunted in pain "shadow!" Sonic said worried trying to help shadow up "sonic, dont worry about me" shadow said brushing sonic off and putting a hand on his should as he took a green chaos emerald out of his quills "shadow?" Sonic said as eggman readied to fire again

"CHAOS CONTROL!" Shadow said just as eggman fired a canon but instead of hitting them it went through the tree.

Shadow and sonic where now in the middle of chris's house shadow then chaos controlled back almost immediately once he knew that sonic was safe

But the house wasnt empty everyone was actually eating in the dining room when the heard shadow chaos control "sonic!" Chris said running over to the blue hedgehog sitting on the floor as everyone else walked in "oh hey guys" sonic said smirking widely as tails helped sonic up, amy offered but tails beat her to it "thanks tails" sonic said thanking the little kit as tails let sonic lean against him "what are you doing here sonic?"

"Eggman is attacking in the forest near shadows house" sonic said calmly but in reality he was really worried "what!" Everyone said in sync "but its ok, shadow is taking care of him" sonic said reassuringly "wait shadow is alive!" Chris said happily "yeah he is" sonic said a little confused he thought tails would have told them already "oh yeah i might have forgotten to tell everyone" tails said rubbing the back of bis head "well i didn't forget to tell, i told cream and ella" amy said proudly

While tails was dragging sonic away before amy could see "so speaking of shadow how's it going with you two" tails said making sonic blush "tails!" Sonic said "well speak of the devil" tails said turning noticing shadow walk into the house "shadow!" Chris said running over to him and hugging him shadow didnt really like it but didnt push away instead shadow just patted him on the back until chris pulled away

And walked over to sonic and tails but before shadow could say anything sonic just let go of tails and jumped into shadows arm he knew his friends where looking but he didnt care much but was a little scared since amy was looking "hey shads" sonic said as shadow started to walk "i hope you didnt miss me too much?" Sonic continued as they walked through the door but before it could close tails just gave sonic a thumbs up and a grin then the door shuts "are we going home now?" Sonic asked "maybe, or is there something you want to do?" "Well its alredy getting late maybe we should just head home so you can rest eggman battles arent always easy" sonic said "well look at you sounding mature for once" shadow said smirking

"Why are you so mean to me" sonic said crossing his arms earning a small laugh from shadow sonic was happy that he could make shadow laugh something that is hardly ever heard.

Sonic just leaned in closer to shadow nuzzling into shadows chest fur closing his eyes smiling the rest of the walk home was quiet but it was relaxing

Once they got home they could smell the old eggs from the door, it didnt smell didn't very good so shadow set sonic on the couch as he threw out their breakfast from this morning "shadow i ant to help!" Sonic said yelling to shadow in the kitchen "are you sure the only thing im going to do is wash the dishes" shadow responded "dont worry about I'll do it for you" sonic said as he carefully got off the couch and started to crawl to the kitchen "sonic? What the heck are you doing" shadow said as he watched the blue hedgehog crawl to the closest counter on all fours

"Well i have to get to the dishes somehow" sonic said using the counter to help him stand up as sonic started to do the dishes and shadow just watched.

As soon as sonic finally finished watching the dishes shadow grabbed sonic by the waist and picked him up bridal style startling sonic a bit as shadow brought sonic upstairs to his room and sat sonic on bed and started to take off all of sonics signature clothing as shadow did to himself too leaving on his inhibitor rings, and lying sonic down next to him sonic was a little surprised on how fast that just happened one moment he was at the sink washing dishes and next he's laying beside a needy hedgehog

As sonic was thinking that shadow started to pull sonic in closer so that sonics head was resting on shadows chest. Well it didnt matter to him he just wished they could stay like this forever

Sonic thought nuzzling shadows chest fur and falling asleep.
