I fell asleep again after texting Leah about Kate and I. I stayed where I was laying, draping my arm over her torso as I fell right back to sleep. I don't even remember falling asleep on her last night, but obviously, she didn't have a problem or else she would have moved me.
When I wake up at 8:30, Kate is still asleep. Looking up at her, I've never seen someone look so peaceful in their sleep. I reach up to brush some of her hair out of her face gently, a small smile on my face as I do.
As I pull my hand away, she starts to stir and I quickly grab my phone to make it look like I wasn't staring at her. I get on Instagram, scrolling through the feed as her hand on my waist moves to my upper arm, running her finger tips up and down along my skin.
I lift my head, seeing her rubbing her eyes before looking down at me, "Good morning, K," I say with a smile.
She presses her lips together as she smiles, "Good morning," Kate says, her morning voice a little raspy. I start to sit up, pushing myself from her grasp, but she pulls me back down quickly, "You can stay right here, you know?"
"You sure you want me laying on you?" I ask and she nods, grabbing her phone from my bedside table. So, she was awake long enough to put her phone up. I'm overthinking already. All we did was fall asleep while watching a movie.
I settle back into my spot with my head against her chest. Her phone screen is filled with text messages from Monika. She must've forgotten to text her last night. I go ahead and look at my own phone, so I don't see her texts with Mon.
